So i've been making meshes, and I've gotten them to show up in bodyshop. But recently whenever I try to export the mesh in order to edit the texture, I get this message "There was a problem exporting the selected textures", I haven't had this problem until recently, and I have no idea what to do... |

I think it might be easier for someone to try to help if you could give a little more information. Are you trying anything new? Did you add groups to the mesh? In Body Shop is it displaying correctly before you try to export it? Is this only happening with meshes you make or does it happen with any custom mesh? Can you export textures from Maxis meshes?

Are you trying anything new? I don't think so... Did you add groups to the mesh? No I've been doing the exact same thing that I always do. In Body Shop is it displaying correctly before you try to export it? Yes the mesh is displaying as it should before I try to export it. Is this only happening with meshes you make or does it happen with any custom mesh? It's only happening with the meshes I make. But it's only doing it to the ones I make for Male sims, the ones I make for female sims export perfectly fine. Could it be the glasses mesh I choose for the males? Can you export textures from Maxis meshes? Yes, I can export all of Maxis Meshes. |

That would be my first suspicion. I know the round Harry Potter type glasses have been notoriously buggy, so if these are the ones you're using this may be the problem. In any case, my first step would be to try making a brand new package from another accessory. Then you can put your mesh in the new package and link as usual, and see if that solves it. Good luck with your project

Thank you for your help, it was the glasses mesh I was using, I switched it and it works fine now. Did you say I can put my mesh in a new package? So I wouldn't have to keep remaking the object I'm trying to make? Cause I've made the same thing like 50 times this week. |

I'm so glad it worked for you. You should be able to put an old file you exported in milkshape in the new package instead of remaking it over and over. Just replace the GMDC with the exported file. This is usually how I tell if the package is screwed up or the mesh itself. If the old gmdc works normally in the new package, I suspect the package was borked. If it still is broken, I go hunting for problems in the mesh and then remake it if needed. It's easier to make a new package than to redo a mesh, usually, so that's my first try if I have no idea where the problem is. FWIW, I've had considerably less experience with accessories than with body or hair meshes, but as I remember, a lot of it is the same.

I make a lot of accessories and I've made a few body meshes but I can't figure out hair meshing. I'll try replacing the mesh file in a new package. Thanks again for your help! |
