Watch the chaos unfold.

Currently, there's sixteen child-aged children in my game and I usually round up everyone I can in whoever's house I'm playing on the weekends so the kids can make friends (and I can get a feel for who's probably going to be dating who when they become teens). The kids usually get along great...it's their parents that are the problem XD

Usually focus on one neighborhood at a time for a few months then move on. Right now, I'm building my own neighborhood. Making my own houses, own families, community lots, etc.

To take pictues of sims, make a character, not to build houses though unless I am really inspired.

Make a family with a very traditional household. I want to do that now but cant find the right terrain. I kinda want it to be like that movie Pleasantview with Toby MacGuire.

Try to improve my neighborhood. Make it more beautiful, dynamic and complete, including the stories of all the sims living in it.

Start a neighborhood from scratch, build up many generations of a family (once go to generation 6!) , eventually get sick of them (anywhere from a week to a year after playing them), and start over.

That, and take pictures for my story in progress.

MY PC crashed so right now..I'm going on a huge downloading spree for when I get a gaming PC again.
But normally I just play households in random order. I like to use cheats to get sims pregnant and mix up the gene pool! I start a hood off from scratch. And play until for some reason my game crashes. Which I had been going on a year and half in the same hood when my PC died.

I create goals for a sim legacy (like taking over a certain chain of businesses), and then play that legacy. Different legacies have different goals. But I made the game much harder for myself in order for it to be hard to achieve the goals, otherwise it wouldn't take a legacy to achieve them.

Building on its own isn't fun for me, I love to build houses and play them, not just to build houses for nothing. I don't understand why so many others find it fun.

Hmm..well, right now, I'm currently working on a legacy. It's on it's third generation (the farthest I've ever gotten before! O: )
Also, I have this weird obsession with creating sims. Ever since I found out about custom content, I have been obsessed. Sometimes, I'll go on sims 2 CAS, make some people, then exit without saving. I just love making up sims and their personalities in my head and then actually making them in the game.

...dunno, maybe I'm just weird :/

I generally do families. And they always live perfect little lives. Its starting to get boring though.... I recently did my first sim to say completely single, although she did adopt a child.

I too had hoods filled with perfect, yet boring, sim families and house decor. Then I started to use the argument and irritate commands here and there between married couples and between siblings which resulted in some interesting interactions and the subsequent challenge to repair the relationships.

I also started to decorate rooms in all one color. I have one house that is entirely decorated using white or light gray/light beige furniture, paint, wallpaper, floors, lamps, art, bedding, etc. It was a fun exercise to try to scour maxis stuff and cc sites for as much white stuff I could find.

But to answer the thread question I usually move in new families and decide, by their personalities, how I'm going to decorate or renovate their home. Decorating keeps me interested in the game and also makes for a sizable downloads folder!

Imagination is more important than knowledge. For knowledge is limited, whereas imagination embraces the entire world, stimulating progress, giving birth to evolution.

i play families i already have. I cent stand making new families anymore because i already have way too many challenges going (7 to be exact). 2 legacies (because 1 is on sims3) a 26-kid challenge, a challenge i made up, an isbi, another one i made up, and a family where they just sit around trying to get abducted (which eventually worked, but now i have to raise the kid)

so im trying to get all these families past generation 1, which hasnt happened so far....

Sometimes I'll use the familyfunds cheat and/or SimBlender to give families money and/or skills.

Other times I'll just make them start from scratch and make them work for stuff. Depends on what I feel like doing.

I generally just create Sims and play them, using the game-made houses(believe it or not, I actually don't mind them!). I can't build houses worth squat. xD
I've been trying to start writing the family stories when I make the families...I usually keep it all in my head, but for some reason the game isn't as fun without a little description to go with the characters. :/

I usually build, esp. community lots. I also like decorating the neighborhood, and whenever I build sth. I make sure it looks nice from the neighborhood view as well. However, my neighborhoods are never heavily populated, and I rarely have sims born in game.

I love to build anmd spend a great deal of time doing that. Lately I have been getting into sixties retro style and many of my houses are bungalows with funky wallpaper and furniture, a big picture window and old cars. For some reason most of these are in Strangetown, for no other reason than that it seems like a good place to put retro houses.

I am really into hobbies (love Free Time) so most of my sims are into hobbies, mostly sewing and repairing cars. I adore the sewing machine. Most of my sims have hobby rooms, and I have one sim who is content to paint all day and do nothing else.
