Ok I sort of adapted and combined the perfect mother challenge, the orphanage challenge, and added some spice! I'm currently playing this right now and holy poo is it hard, but so worth it. UPDATE!!!! Natalis has a gorgeous nun's habit and robe over here (http://www.thesimsresource.com/down...-ya/id/1065243/ ) at TSR. Thanks Natalis for making this challenge more awesome! Also, there are a lot of 'church' community lots posted there for a Sunday hangout. Enjoy! So, first you must create your nun.In CAS, make a YA female, pick some black and white clothing, and name her Mother Superior (first: mother last: superior). This is the beginning of your not biological 'legacy'. She must have at least two of these traits: Neat Natural Cook Friendly Shy (LN only) Family Oriented Frugal Nurturing (GEN only) She must have these traits: Never Nude Good Now move her in and build your house! Her bedroom must be in the nursery and you must have bedrooms for the older children. You must have a garden; this is your only source of food for cooking. All meals will come from here. No grocery shopping. Other than that, go bananas! Use cheats! Use moveobjects on! Do whatever you like! JUST REMEMBER there is very little opportunity for you to make money...so you might want to keept it modest so your bills aren't too high, unless you're a masochist or something. Add your orphans! Ok, so basically you run around town and visit families with kids and use testingcheatsenabled true, shift click on the child, and add them to your family. Rules: 1. You can only take children from families who are not rich. You're a nun and must help the poor. 2. Unless you have awesomemod, twallan's mods, or something else: you are limited to 7 children and must pick the poorest ones first. 3. Try and keep up with babies, 'adopt' babies as soon as they're born. (you should have room for them..it's hard finding not rich sim kids depending on your neighborhood) 4. Orphans move out the day they reach YA status. Daily life:Every day you must cook, clean, garden, and take care of the kids. Help them with their homework. Encourage friendships. Keep them happy as much as possible. Every Sunday, take the family to a community church (there are tons of 'church' lots around...pick one) and spend the day there. You must also donate at least 100$ to a charity from your mailbox. For an extra challenge: don't click on any of the child portraits. Just keep it on your nun and anticipate their needs. Money:As a nun, you are also responsibly for churchly duties such as working at the Mausoleum. It's a night job, so provided you have at least one teenager, you don't have to hire a babysitter and can still work. This should be your only income. You will end up with teenagers, but they cannot work. EDIT: LilyXD has made a fantastic Preacher career (http://www.modthesims.info/download.php?t=428999) that is a fantastic money option for your nun! I love it! The Next Generation: Once your nun starts getting close to elder, it's time to choose her successor. One of the female children must be chosen to be the next nun. Find a child with at least one of the required traits (or make sure she ages up well and choose them for her) and dress her in the black. She is the only child allowed to remain in the house when she ages to adult. Then, take her to city hall and change her name to Sister-whatever. You may now control her. For every nun that dies, bury her on the lot somewhere and befriend her ghost. Play as long as you can stand it, or until 7 nuns have operated the orphanage/abbey. If the social worker takes your children, you have obviously failed. GENERATIONS UPDATE!!! (optional fun bits inspired by new gen features) Moods: Since teenage sims now have mood swings, as a nun, it is your job to make them 'pray' until the mood swing is over. Example, does you abbey have a library? an altar? Now you just force the teenage sim in question to read (ahem pray) or study for the entire duration of the mood swing. Prom: Only good orphan sims who study hard can go to prom. Your teen sim must stay home unless they have a B or better in school. Imaginary Friends: No imaginary friend potion. It's voodoo and your nun wouldn't allow this. PDA: nuns are terribly offended by public displays of affection. if you catch your teen sims doing more than hugging, scold them. Afterschool activites: Only wholesome activities allowed such as study group, debate and music. Boarding School: obviously as this makes your children cared for...it's kinda cheating to send them to boarding school. Graduation: Yes, YA sims can live in the orphanage until they graduate...then you kick them out! Daycare: bonus points if your nun can be a daycare professional. +30 for every level she makes. SHOWTIME/PETS UPDATES!!! You should feed all stray animals that come on your lot. This means maintaining food bowls and hay at all times. +15 for every adopted stray animal. Adopted animals who hunt and obtain objects are cheating for extra money. Even the animals don't steal! Release any caught wildlife and 'lose' gems/metals. Supporting the arts is a good idea...except for those magician. It's voodoo! Attend SimFests and cheer performers. Leave if a magician shows up. Hosting through SimPort is a great way to feed those extra hungry travelers! +5 for well cared for simport travelers. Scoring: 10 points for every: child that ages up well toddler skill earned teenager that gets on the honor roll Sunday you actually make it to church child that is nun's best friend 20 points for every: YA that marries another orphan child that has more than 5 friends every new generation teen that is the nun's best friend level up in the career (yes you get points for each nun) -10 points for: children that age up badly Sundays you don't make it to church failure to donate to charity day that you don't tend the garden Enjoy! |

I might try a variation of this which is less religious in nature, as I'm Catholic and I don't think my pastor would be happy to see nuns portrayed this way. Also, I wanted to make it so the teens and "nun" can make money in other ways. Still, great idea! I can set this in Sunset - Claire Ursine's little baby girl needs to be taken away from that crazy crook mom... |

"Seriously... what the he**? I'm not going to dig graves for all of you. Okay, now what will I do with all of these corpses? Oh, there's a fire and I've fallen into a hole. Not my problem anymore!" (From MaskedHuzzah's Dragon Warrior III Let's Play) |

I have started playing this challange, but made a change for which children to take. I play with Awesome Mod and Twallans mods, so I can check on the status of children in the neighborhood before going to their homes. If a baby/toddler/child/teen mood stays below happy for more than 2 days, I visit the home to check on the child (I don't care if they are rich or poor) and if they are being neglected I use Twallan's Master Controller to add them to my nun's household (they don't become her children). I am playing Barnacle Bay and right now there are not a lot of families with children, so I only have 4 children in my house (a teen, 2 children and 1 toddler). It is challenging to keep everything going smoothly. |

I failed. My Nun skilled cooking, gardening etc. to a high level. While she was learning, Story Progression forced a Riverview-Baby-Boom. Babys everywhere! I said: "Fine, let's collect some babys! But first, I want to look, where they are." Changed the household for three sims hours, maybe more, and returned. My Nun was pregnant!! Hal Breckenrigde, the womanizer, seduced her.

That' so funny! This challenge looks fun..But what about using the 'adopt child' option? Is there a reason they are taken from families instead? |

If you use adopt a child option, the children become her children and not children that she is suppose to be helping. I play with Awesome Mod and Twallan's mods and together they allow me to see the motive status of sims in their households from the neighborhood view. |

Oh yeah that's true. I use Twallan's master controller..but I couldn't see the motive status of sims in their households..at least I think I couldn't LOL. So, I went into neighborhood view and clicked on each house to see who was the poorest. Then I clicked on add a sim to household and picked the children from those homes so it worked out fine. It is crazy trying to keep up with this but I love it. Three kids are set to age today so it should be better now that there's only one baby and the older ones can take care of the baby too. |

This looks super fun <3 I've been eyeing this thread for a little while and I think I'm finally going to try it. I think I might make my nun a Mormon lady instead so I have an excuse to use all those frilly shirts hanging around my CAS. |

I am going to do this, but there are no children in my legacy town. So I am going to create a nun and have her adopt a bunch of children at once. She will be evil though, and a slob, so the children will have to clean up after their messy new parent. |

ahh this is too easy. i will try it with your rules when i get bored. i made my "nun" dislike children and evil. but i also hired a butler. And used money cheats. so it is n't really that fun. but then again it never is when i cheat a lot... |

I've been playing this all day! It's challenging but really fun. I put my Mother Superior in Twinbrook and adopted from the Bayless, Prudence, and Castor households. That evil Jeffrey Castor just runs around trying to make everyone miserable... except for Pansy Prudence, who he takes care of even more than Mother Superior. Awwww c: |

I started this today, But I think I'm gonna make a second mother Superior and have a 2ed orphanage for the kids I don't have enough room for.. since I'm kinda afraid to use one of those overstuffed mods... lol

I have been looking at this for ages and decided to have a go right now, just setting up a new NH in SV. I am going to make my nun and a couple of kids in CAS to start with namely Huck Finn and Tom Sawyer and go from there. Would that be cheating? I noticed the other day that Skemoko (spelt it wrong) had a baby and it was extremely unhappy, I went into that house and put in a crib as it was lying on the door step so I can see that this is going to be very interesting and it will hopefully stop me from being so bored, which I am at the moment. I just hope my nun doesn't become pregnant. How about if I had the nun adopt a girl and then that one takes on the role and so on then it would also be like a legacy. Will post my progres. |

I decided to try it, because it sounded interesting. Well, it is interesting, but it's hard and complicated ... XD Sister Luise takes care of all the children here, in the Orphanage. Her traits are: Green Thumb, Natural Cook, Never Nude, Good and Family Oriented. ![]() Now, the children ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

I just found this thread, and am starting the challenge. I made my nun a Benidictian Sister (she wears brown, not black and white) because that's the group of nuns I have had the most contact with. I don't think their order runs any orphanages, but oh well. Would I post a link here to my blog page for this when I set one up? Edit: Sorry, it was Franciscan sister, not Benidictian. I got my nuns mixed up. |
