Okay, I'm going insane here .....
First off, my problem:I've only been playing in build mode(with no sims owning the lot) on my dream mansion.I got through the yard just fine and the first level okay aswell. But once I hit the secound lvl of the house, I would click on something or scroll or do any random action(and yes it is random because I've tested all kinds of actions and nothing in particular seems to set it off....) and my screen would turn a blank blue with my cursor turning into an hour glass(the sim hour glass, not a computer one).I just hard rebooted my computer and started playing for another...idk,45 minutes? And it did it again and I did the same thing, again.About half way through my 2nd lvl I timed and wait to see how long the blank blue screen lasted...about 10min....and then it would go back the game. Now I'm toward the begining of my 3rd lvl and the blue screen keeps coming back more frequently as I go along.

My question:Is this normal?Or rather is there a solution?I just want a 4 story house. If 2 stories crashes the game then I'm sure they wouldn't let me have 3 or more in the first place. So any fixes?

What I've tried on my own:I went through the ALL the help guilds on this site...They don't help.I have only one hack and very little CC.But I removed them(yes, the correct way)....No difference.I removed my unused neighborhoods....Well, my game loads faster but still no fix for my blues.Since there are no sims on this lot, I doubt it's them but I played other lots anyway(though they were smaller community lots) for about 2 hours with no problems. And yes, I did see the help link on this site that says "Blue Screen Issue Nvidia" or something like that but guess what?....The article is blank. I've searched the help forum to see if there was another thread like mine......It only referred me back to the blank article.

What I have:I have ALL the EPs and ALL the SP and have downloaded every patch for them since...I think...2009?Well whatever year it was, they were already advertising for TS3 so I doubt they have anymore patches.I have 77% free space on my comp and no other programs running while I sim.And I do believe I have Nvidia of some type.Last time I updated my drivers would pry be around 2008.I wish I could give better info but my computer is at home and I have no internet for it since 2009.I wrote the specs down but lost the paper on the way here somehow.

What I've heard:I have searched other sites for answers to my problem and saw that many people had the same issue but on every site I saw that either their question went unanswered or the few possible solutions that were given proved to not fix the problem. On about 85% of the sites, the problem remained unsolved and were just filled with people having the same issue. But most of the threads were, coincidentally, in 2007 so I'm hoping that by now something has changed? Also many people said that it was a combination of bad coding on EAxis' part and Nvidia also causing the conflict with both parties just pointing the finger at each other.Acording to some, the blue screen started with the Pets EP and then was fixed by, I think Seasons but then reoccured in BonVoyage and thats where the information trail stopped.I also heard people say they were going to bye something called ATI? But, unfortunatly, I could never find a post saying that this actually fixed the problem....I don't want to waste money on a new game card for nothing, ya dig?

So...sorry for the long post but I figure too much information is way better then to little and I've tried to include everything I can think of that would help; but one note though.....Many of the people said that they got a blue screen with writing and error script on it.Mine is just a blue blank screen with a hour glass cursor. Also, they said that after the blue screen, it would flash black and/or crash and reboot.Mine only stays on the blue screen 10mins and then returns to the game right where I left off....I've never, ever had my computer crash on me....I just hard rebooted it the first few times because....I was impatient...and didn't think much of it at first till it became annoying.

We need more information before we can help with your issue. Please post your system specs - instructions on finding them are here: Game Help:System Specswiki.

If it is not specifically asked, please provide the Quick summary only.

It looks like someone switched the namespace of that page without realising it'd nuke the page - but let's see if it's even possible that you're affected by this before we worry about that. :) You tested with clean neighbourhoods, so this affects all lots, not just the one, yeah?

Um...I'm not sure what..."clean" neighboorhoods mean but I only used the neighborhood that I created while the others were deleted. As far as lots go.....like I said in the first post, I had my sims go onto other lots for two "real" hours and nothing happened...but they were the generic community lots that come with the game and ofcoarse, not very big.I didn't start having this problem on my one lot untill the place got very big, so that may be why it only affects my one big lot and not the smaller comunity lots. Also, I've only had the blue screen happen when in build mode.(I don't know if it would happen on this lot with sims since I didn't stay for very long)

But regaurdless, as soon as I tried to have my sims acually "on the lot",(before I was just building on it) the game lagged so much that it doesn't seem to matter whether I have a blue screen or not.....I'm not going to be able to play on this mansion if it takes about 3 minutes to walk from the mail box to the car.Again, is THAT normal? Why do all these other people have no trouble playing on HUGE lots while mine can't even handle a 2 story lot with a big yard? ....either way I will have the computer specs by wensday when I get home finally......hopefully that will help you help me...

And sorry about the long posts...it's a hard habbit to break....

Clean neighbourhoods = brand new neighbourhoods created after you've (temporarily) removed the The Sims 2 folder from My Docs, like in the game problem FAQ.

Please post your system specs.
