Have you ever made your sim-self? And if you have, anything interesting happen with them?

I've never made my sim-self yet, but I've been thinking about it.

I did once, and let's just say, it wasn't pretty... He was my first Sim, I didn't know how prone to fire Sims were...

Yes, and I've re-made my simself a number of times across the years, all in different 'hoods. About the only interesting thing was that she had a tendancy to have twins (and it was almost always pregnancy #1 = single birth; pregnancy #2 = twins).

I normally start a new game with a self sim. I say self sim, they never actually look much like me because I can never be bothered to go to that much effort (!) but they have my name and my style.

I haven't, and I don't think I will: my jerky sims hate me enough already without a sim-me around to bother them too

Back in Sims 1 when I was a tween, the very first sims I made were myself and Elijah Wood. (lol)
I tried making a self sim in Sims 2 but to be completely frank, I was pretty bloody boring.

Yes, in TS3. I haven't played much though, just took some pictures and tried new things that came with expansions.

I have, and I'm rather pleased by how well she turned out. She looks pretty much like me, overall. It's fun to put my self-Sim into a neighborhood and make her into the neighborhood psychopath, or have her be the weird neighbor who gets abducted by aliens regularly.

Umm the only time I ever did this was back in the original sims game for Xbox. I was a lot younger and made my entire family. I made my sister and I kids, and made my mom, and dad, and then my brother and his girlfriend at the time lived in a seperate house. I use to play it ALL the time. However, back then the sims was completely different for me. Now when I play The Sims 2 on computer, there is so much more I can do. I thought about making myself, but I'm a short person and I don't think I can really make myself look right even with a bunch of CC. However it would be pretty cool to see how my life plays out in a virtual world. I would probably not make any other family though.. make it as if I moved to a new neighborhood and knew nobody. Might have to try that sometime, even if I can't make myself look exactly like me. Right now I got three different things going at once.. so probably not the best of times lol.

I have a sim-self. I killed her (I had reasons). You know how ghosts usually cheer their beds? She's such a total knowledge sim she cheers her telescope instead! She'll get resurrected someday.
She's usually my telescope-slapper, because she's usually my neighborhood setter-upper, so I can make my townies and all that good stuff on her lot. I haven't done the rest of my family because sim genetics don't work the same way real genetics do.

Yes, several incarnations of my self-sim for me.

First attempt: put her in the the cheapest starter home because I fancied a challenge, gave her a cat for company, made her open a pet shop home business on the corner of her lot (which failed miserably - my first attempt at OFB), forgot to see that whilst she was hurrying around trying to please customers that her hunger levels were dipping to red. Then before I knew it, she died on the kitchen floor..

I didn't save the game but neither did I play her for a while after that... too depressing! lol

My second attempt was more a bubbly, confident, extrovert music student who became Miss Popular and married one of my Demilo boys, producing 4 kids. I had her run a club and music shop business too, and she did well, albeit was a bit dipsy. They became one of my favorite families.

Latest incarnation: another musician/nightclub owner (my avatar actually). So far she's single but I have plans for her to hook up with a very handsome male I downloaded from somewhere.

Edit: oh I forgot my very first sim ever. My namesake. Had 14 kids.. Still on the valium.

Love means never having to say you're sozzled.

Nope, never, and I doubt I ever will. I find the whole idea of having a Sim that looks like me very creepy somehow... I really wouldn't want to see her/me die or anything!

I have (as my avatar reveals!), both in TS1 and TS2. However, I didn't like the idea of starting from scratch as an adult in TS2, so made me as a child, my sister as a toddler and my parents as adults.

However, she's now much older than me IRL, married with three kids... the parents are still alive, as couldn't bring myself to let them die, and I'm a little hesistant to let my self-sim die, but when I eventually do, I've still got the children

No need to use my full name, "Selly" will do just fine.

I never made one and probably never will. I think I've mentioned this reason before, but I just don't want my Sim-self to advance too far and, while playing it, have myself go "How come I'm an epic failure compared to MYSELF?"

I did for TS1 and didn't hesitate to create a more realistic me in TS2...though I really shouldn't have used me to experiment with how the genetics worked (without researching first!!) cos I ended up having 9 kids (2 sets of twins in there tho!) in an attempt to get a kid with their dad's light blue eyes (I have brown...it was never gonna happen).

Still, I love all 9 kids...they all have their slight differences though all seem to be nerds (apart from one who never wanted to do his homework lol). And I have lots of grandkids now too that are also great to play!

I put a stripped-down (CC-free) version of my self-sim in the first multiplayer neighbourhood as the legacy founder. He married one of the pretty townies and had twin girls. He sure makes good-looking kids!

I like to start a new neighborhood with my self-sim and then build more families throughout the neighborhood. I usually make my other sims different from myself, so I find it fun to create my sim/decorate their house the way I like it before moving on to other sims.

I did, but every time it's either an epic fail or the CC I have (or DON'T have) makes her look ugly or not the same. I can never come close to perfecting myself; it's always a far-out fail.

I have made my self-sim before (and revised it several times)- you might remember that it was my avatar for a while. I find it funny that I look better as a sim than in real life (although I would hardly call myself ugly).

My opinions may be uninformed BS, but at least I've thought about my uninformed BS.

I'm glad you elaborated on the "stripped-down" part and stated that you meant CC!!

Ive made several

The first, in Pleasantview married a male sim and had 10 kids...2 adopted the rest ...not all of them looked horrible though ...except the girls...but there were only 3 girls...

The other in Veronville. never played her much thought

My most recent ones in my custom 'hood. The first one glitched and grew into an adult with a blue face....i exited without saving 3 times and got the same result each time. So i gave up. Then i made her replacement who just graduated college..

I find i tend to make them look older than me (I'm 13 and my sim graduated college...) And much more attractive than me. My sim is skinny...I'm...Not (no I'm not one of those stick figures that constantly thinks they are fat I'm actually overweight)My sims also wears make up...which i hate.

I just lately made some kind of a self-sim in TS3. But I added some things to her I want to have, for example tanned skin (I am VERY pale. Even paler than *gulp* Kristen Stewart). I married her with the town's casanova and made her a vampire. Though I never refer to her as *me*. Cause it's creepy.

I was never really interested in playing with simself, but I've had quite a few of those made by other people. Especially by girls I've been dating.
The most amusing part was the sims were so different from each other you would never tell they all were made after the same person.

I have. I used my sim self and made triples Lily Rose and Daisy. On was the party Sim who married Malcom Landgraab and had a very ugly girl. One married and adopted 2 girls than had her own she was a fortune sim and my last was a family sim. She had 6 kids and a deadbeat hubby who dropped out of college. Fun times. Do it all the time.

true love is sim love :)
