Default What would you like incorporated into the game?
I remember playing The Urbz a few years ago in Diamond Heights. It was really fun climbing the Reputation ladder and meeting all the celebs, punks, weeaboos, and strange gamblers (they always seemed to be really ghetto under South Side Bridge). Everyone would be walking around chatting, dancing, and whatnot. They'd all come and clap and cheer for you when you'd win at the arcade games on the carriage in Gasoline Row.

I'd like LN to be like that. I want some celebs to be snobby, and some to be really nice. I want people in the streets chatting (they actually had quite a few sims in the base game walking around the park and near the bookshop). I want people in popular areas. I want people to show up at clubs, pubs, and bars like The Urbz and start to drink, fight, and dance all over the goddamn place. I'd love people to have no clue about vampires and they'd be lurking in the dark, going to the creepy underground rave clubs rockin' 'til the break of dawn. I want to be able to renovate my apartment until I have to move into a penthouse.

I don't even have the game yet.

I wanted LN to be like that too, but sadly EA went with a "whitewash Hollywood"-type of city. The Urbz was a fun game, despite the obvious insanity of gameplay issues and flaws, simply because it had such attitidue. I guess EA is trying to appeal to what they think their demographic wants to buy, which is not ghettofabulous.

I WANTED GHETTOFABULOUS, DAMN IT.

Though there seems to be prostitutes in LN, or maybe that's just my imagination. Slutty dressed women walking down the street in the wee hours of the morning...? I thinks may-be!

I think that sounds like a lot of fun, Unghie! But LN is not like that at all. You become a celebrity by making friends with celebrities and pretty soon, when you are not looking, your entire town is full of celebrities (and/or Vampires). There is no challenge at all. The clubs are pretty empty since there is a limit on how many sims can be on a lot at one time...more or less depending on your computer specs. I think I had 8 one time in a club but the sims really didn't interact. A few danced on the table or on the dance floor with zombified looks in their eyes. I didn't find it all that much fun. I honestly don't think EA is gearing it toward any audience..just trying to make the most money with the least amount of work. Its very sad but I doubt there will be a Sims 4 if they keep this up unless they make Sims 4 into an entirely different game...WoW for Sims or something like that.

I have very little custom content but I do have the TS3 nude packages and the no censorship. This results in some NPC's looking very strange and I have seen some semi nude female Sims walking about at night. I watched one of them and she was picked up in a car driven by a ghost. They went into the graveyard.

Seriously though, I could do without the censorship by EA as Sims in their native state are sexless and even my 2 year old knows the difference between boys and girls.

One thing that bothered me about the LN expansion was the few choices of penthouses when moving a new Sim into the city. All the good penthouses - meaning those that aren't studios or 1 bedrooms - are occupied by other Sims.

This has bothered me since Sims 1. The most basic Barbie doll is rated age 3+, and since the clothes are made to be removed so you can buy more outfits to dress her in, it means the nude Barbie is acceptable for 3 year olds. But a teen rated game has to censor a Barbie style nude body.

As I never tire of saying, the first thing a new born baby sees is a woman's naked genitals, the second thing her naked breasts. Somewhere around 2 years old they become too old to see these things any more, and immediately become too young to see them at the same time.

What would I like incorporated into the game?
  • More secretive/underground vampires with regular sims being unaware of the species, Plus I would really love if particular regular sims had a particular colour border around them indicating that they are regular plasma donors - I'd prefer that to the vamp border cos it takes away from the secretiveness.
  • Singing in bands with a singing skill (like training) and a "great/natural singer" trait
  • DJ Booth!! Photo Booth!! Vending machines!!
  • Open restaurants like in sims 2, but with themes like Chinese, French, Italian, Indian
  • MORE INTERACTIONS with unique animations.

Sims went online several years ago and failed miserably. We don't need another sparkly turd like Second Life, mostly filled with avatars who have no personality, some deprived, perverted sex addicts, a few cyber bullies and stalkers.

EA doesn't know how to do MMO. Warhammer Online was a devastating tragedy. Yeah, they have BioWare on board, they used to make really good computers games, but from what I've read about SW:TOR, it doesn't seem the least bit entertaining. And the 'gurus' in Sims Development land hired a guy who had a hand in developing EverQuest. A long time ago, I watched this dude play that game for about thirty minutes. I was bored and unimpressed. Anyways, EA has their EQ thinking caps on while they vaguely study WoW game features and mechanics (they can't study what stories Blizzard tried to concoct for that game because they make zero sense). They've blended some of those elements into S3, and it hasn't worked out very well: the MMO genre is flatter than a crepe.

Did you ever notice on the S3 Launcher (I guess most of us rarely, if ever, pop that tasteless candy into our mouths) at the bottom there're pack icons? I can imagine it being filled with more of those little icons to about a half, perhaps three-quarters of the way before the game's legacy ends. It's gonna be around for awhile.

I have a PS3, and just for curiousity's sake, I logged into their online cyberspace whatever (I forget the name). It was sad and incredibly frightening at the same time. I did a little research on Second Life awhile back. It's clear to me that cyberworld is like a cross between the nightmare I witnessed on my PS3 with some Facebook thrown into the mix. Facebook really sucks, btw. 99% of the people on there don't have anything worth reading about. SL will never touch my OS...never ever.

Should EA go online with Sims, it's not going to be pleasant, in my opinion...

Well you can't even compare Second Life to the Sims, except both have avatars. Beyond that, they are very, very different. Completely. And though SL has its share of problems, I wouldn't exactly call it a sparkly turd. I know a handful of people making good income out of SL. And it's not that the avatars have NO personality - they have real personalities... behind every avatar IS a real person. (Usually.) I will agree that some of the people who play Second Life are sparkly turds... but that's true of Real Life too

Every MMO has 'sparkly turds". Its probably the biggest problem with an online world full of anonymous people, some of them preferring the online social world to the real social world..or in the case of some folks (my young adult son included) they are unable to interact successfully in the real social world but do quite well in the online world. I have played in online worlds for many years, from the days back when they were simply text Muds and Mushes. There are some good folks in those worlds and games but there are some jerks as well..and some that see it as a sexual playground, or a place to bully others, or a place to role play violence or gain power/control. I have left online worlds because of people like this and stayed for years on worlds where the good folks outnumbered the bad.

I find it interesting that the person above said that the MMO genre if flat. I have to agree. They are pretty much all the same. I don't include Second Live as an MMO, by the way. Its a virtual world, not a game. It would be nice if a new MMO came on the market that was different but I am not going to hold my breath. Game companies are inherently conservative these days as compared to the time when they created new and exciting titles. Sims 3 is no longer as new and innovative as Sims 1 or even Sims 2. Instead, they use the same formulas that made them money in the past not even caring that the people who come along to buy their games are really tired of the same old stuff. We want to use our money to buy NEW games. I hope another Will Wright comes along to give us one.

I wanted LN to be just like The Urbz, with its street attitude, crazy socials, and different types of people, but in LN, all the sims are bland and boring, and bars and clubs arent as lively as I want them to be. Well at least we got some new dance moves and dancing on countertops and tables.

Singing and a DJ booth would of been nice. I dont get why EA left out a DJ Booth for a expansion which is all about clubs and bars.

1.A gypsy to sell tonics to remove vampirism.
2.Faster painting. Honestly it does not take more than 10 maybe 15 minutes to pay the sloppy job the paintings i saw my Sim make. A 4year old could have done that in 20 seconds. Why it takes 1 hour is beyond me.

3. Slower Days. in one day i don't get anything done. Which is why time is always turned off. It bothers me. A longer day would be appreciated. Or option of it.

4.Selectable wear for Maternity.
5.Apartments being apartments. Where Sims have there own rooms. Like high rises but you can select which family in there.
6.Reviving plants and becoming a Plant Sim.
7.Reverse aging from Life fruit. Literally i mean from Young Adult to Teen.
8.Looting fixes for World Adventures so i can have a reason to go there. When i see relics on the ground i cant pick them up.
9.CAS Back expansion so the back can be wider and shoulders come out for men.
10.More shirts with bigger breast. I have good designs and i use them all the time. But i have a limited supply of clothing. No long sleeves or other wise.
11.Shirts over shirts. A shirt you can put on a Sim. Then you have the option of a second shirt that covers over it.
12.Skirts. very few skirts i have found for my women creations.
13.i would say Teen pregnancies but someone did a mod on that and it felt more realistic but even after removing it,it seem to be fine without it. But requested.
14.Shorter people. Women shorter than men. Sorry but i feel this should be pointed out.

I'd also really love to see the sims having to force the rubbish down in their bins when it gets close to rubbish day, having a rubbish day, and replacing the limp excuse for a bag with a fat, dripping bag of rubbish.

Are you serious? EQ is one of the most beloved MMOs of all time. No one I've met and talked with (hundreds of devoted gamers from a big demographic) who played that game had anything negative to say about it. They all quit because they had been at it for years and needed something new.

What I Want Added to LN/Another Night Expansion
-More interactions for sims to do with other sims in clubs
-Like others have mentioned, vocals as a new instrument skill
-Modeling career with high fashion vs. glamour branches
-Casinos and careers like security guard, dealer, showgirl, and comedian

I would love a modelling career, however this would force the game to scrutinize the appearance of individual sims which I think EA want to avoid. I mean, have you seen a "Call Linda fat" option in the "Mean" pie menu? No, but I wish there was that option.. There's "mock appearance" but I think they're aiming that at particular full face make-up and ridiculous outfit combinations... I know what I mean it to mean when I have my sims perform that social.

Does anyone remember the type of groups that sims could belong to that came with Apartment life for Sims 2? I really didn't quite understand how to be a *insert group type here* but if it was incorporated into this game I would endeavour to figure it out.. Probably much like becoming a vampire in S3, instead of asking to turn you'd ask to be initiated into the sub-culture. From memory, I think there was a high-class group, a biker kind of group.. Gangs is what I'm after basically, isn't it. GANGS & GHETTOFABULOUS!

Moar:
  • Clubs/Hobbies for kids
  • Manufactured Pudding to look less the same - the amount of frakkin' times I have gone into "Edit in CAS" on those ugly MoFos, then they change out of their work/service clothes and they're all fugly again! ARRGH!
  • Bands that need to rehearse songs together - WTF kind of band goes to a gig to have a jam.. maybe near the end of the set, but the whole thing, really?
  • More types of music for jamming - Metal/Harder Rock, Soul and R&B etc..
  • New age group - Middle-aged, between Adult and Elder. (Can anybody say "Status Quo")
  • Hen and Stag Parties
  • Group management on the phone like in S2 and a kind of diary planner that stays the same no matter whose household you change to - I wouldn't want to be friends with ANY friend that came over to MY house to ask me to go out on THE SAME day.. I'm probably in my pyjamas or in the bath - fuck off, I'm not going clubbing
  • This probably belongs in Ambitions - I wanna SEE the future and past worlds in the time machine. I wanna go there, and it's not too hard to imagine, they managed World Adventures before hand.
  • This probably belongs in World Adventures - Airport, please? NOT gather everyone up into the car, drive to the end of the road, pop out of a vanished car, loading screen.. Plus, what happened to the suitcases? That inventory they have in their ass must be pretty damn big.. Passport *check*, Entire Wardrobe *check*, Meteorite that the player forgot to remove *check*, Car that will look absolutely absurd driving around the streets of Shang Simla *check*

In Sims 2, there was a "Gypsy" NPC who sold potions to 'cure' Vamperism [and later, more creatures seemed to get antidotes through her, too] to Sims, as well as making Matches (Hence often called the "Matchmaker") This was brought in NightLife, which LateNight is somewhat a "sequel" or similar expansion.
So it's not complying to a Stereotype, as such, but simply referring to an earlier feature from the Last Game
But yes, I agree that some parts of the game are highly exaggerated and Stereotypical, and this is one part which is such.

We now have enough RHs for every Sims career or to waste time in, er, I mean attend non-visible activities like dining, shopping, sports and entertainment. EA is planning on giving us another RH -- a repeat of one we already have. Instead EA should make the active lots they already gave us more active, animated, and enjoyable.

GYM - Add gymnastic equipment like pommel horse, parallel bars, uneven bars, and a large mat for floor exercises (maybe a few floor routines). A juice station or espresso bar (with object generated NPC) where Sims can relax and socialize before/after a workout. An espresso bar would be good for many lots -- gym/bookstore/park, etc.

Art Museum - Have Sims sketch the art they're viewing. It could work like Sims painting but with using a sketch pad rather than an easel with the image generated in a pencil or charcoal effect. Aside from the school painting class, add a community art class -- a floor space containing 4-5 easels, a special easel that generates its own NPC instructor Sim that walks around viewing, visibly reacting, and commenting (some good, some bad, some funny) on the Sims paintings. When class is over the Sim being played has option to keep or scrap painting. (All others are automatically scrapped). The art "classroom" object could also include a small centered platform to place objects or have Sims pose as the painting subject. Players could then place the art class in the museum or any community lot of their choice.

Library - Kid's story time room. A small room decorated for children with a special bookcase that generates its own NPC who will read out loud to the kids in the room. Keeping young Sims occupied and entertained while having a “library” experience (instead of playing with the same toys they have at home) while the adult Sims goes off to read. Add special "library only" non-skill books related to game topics and Sims traits. Titles could indicate related topic. ("Vampires:Out for Blood", "My Mother The Car: A Psychic Journey", "History of the Ham Actors Guild (H.A.G.)", "The Carping Soul", etc. Sims could fortify or expand their interests by reading these books which can become part of common interest in conversation with the book cover showing up in the Sims speech bubbles. Bring back magazines as well -- they could also expand or fortify a Sims interests (but please no messages about Sims maintaining interests.) Sims could receive a positive moodlet for discovering a new interest through reading.

Restaurant -- RH Bistros and food registers serve a function but are hollow in terms of game play. Give us a fully staffed restaurant with object generated NPCs -- podium (host), menus (wait staff), commercial stove (Chef). And add a few new dishes to give us a choice of menus (American, Chinese, French, Italian) allowing players to create different types of restaurants.

Bars/Clubs: These are the best lots we’ve gotten from EA so far but they would improve if EA added:
Singers for bands (and give them microphone w/ stands).
Karaoke
DJ Booth (with object generated NPC DJ)
Also, a nectar bar would be a good addition to the dive and posh bars

Store Registers – okay EA so you gave us the registers – now how about adding some deco so we can create store atmosphere—signs, display stands, shelves of canned goods, dry goods, household cleaning items, dairy case, freezer case, candy display rack, cases of baked goods, tables of Sale, a display of books on tape, shopping carts, hand baskets, etc, etc, etc.

It's Life...there are no rules.
