Want Skylights? Well, here they are... #1 |
| actionguy87 |
I'm not sure if the Mod the Sims community (or anyone else for that matter) has created or discovered any practical, functional, skylights that aren't created through some half-baked tutorial. So, with this uncertainty, I present to you some legitimate skylights that work perfectly! I found the skylights on a very popular Spanish Sims website which you can visit via this link: http://lunasimslulamai.jimdo.com/ (Note that Google Chrome has a built-in translator that turns all foreign language on a page into English) Or if you just want to download the skylights, click on the link below: http://www.mediafire.com/?v5x8987kxap0b3u IMPORTANT! To use the skylights, go to Buy Mode and click on Decor. Before you select your skylights, delete a hole in your ceiling where you will place them. Don't worry, the developer made sure that the skylights fit SEAMLESSLY into your ceiling gap. Now fit your skylights into the hole you made in your ceiling. Be sure to check out everything else on the Luna Sims website! All of it is REALLY cool! ENJOY YOUR NEW SKYLIGHTS!!! |

I was just thinking the other day that skylight panels would be cool (and not too difficult) to add - its just a window instead of a flat ceiling panel. Thanks! |

Psst - in future, you can link to cool stuff you've found by submitting Finds on the front page.

Thanks! I was just thinking about this a couple days ago. Although, I brought the page up in Chrome and none of the links worked. They just wouldn't go anywhere at all. So thanks for including instructions and a download link! |

Wooooo!! So glad to get some responses! For a while there, I thought this thread was going to slip onto page two. Anyways, I'm glad you all like the skylights! I know that I was looking for skylights FOREVER before I finally stumbled upon these. They truly make a great addition to the game!

Okay so I downloaded this and it does not work at all as it is described. I deleted one square tile in the roof but the object didn't snap to that empty spot to place it. Instead, it placed in on a roof tile that was occupied. Furthermore, the skylight (which is huge btw) sits almost an entire level above the roof. I reckon this would serve better as an awning than a skylight. Very disappointing. |

You must delete a 4 x 4 section in your ceiling for the smallest skylight to fit. You also must drop down to the floor below your ceiling to place the skylight (you won't be able to see your roof while doing this so make sure you know exactly where you made your 4 x 4 hole) Hope it works out!! |
