I love the house in this picture. It's an EA house that comes with the base game.

I've been trying to expand the garage so that I can have my laundry stuff in there, but I'm finding it impossible to replicate the roof design as EA has it.

Obviously, they're using a basic gabled roof, but somehow they've managed to constrain the orientation of the roof as they dragged it over. When I try that, the shape of the rectangle changes and the roof automatically shifts 90 degrees, so the ridge is aligned along the longest wall.

But... obviously EA has better tools. How can I cheat this into my game? Ideas?

Use the other gabled roof. =) Each can be placed over so many tiles before rotating.

Oh wow!! That was easy, and absolutely awesome!

Thanks HugeLunatic.

I spent all afternoon trying to figure out how to do it, and I probably wouldn't have tried the Tall Gabled roof, since I'd expect it to be very steep and not really what I was going for.

But, I did as you said and it comes out just like the original, only now the garage is a little more spacious.

Thanks again! Back to playing now.

Do it in pieces, try using two roofs as the whole. So instead of one big roof make it two, just overlap them in them middle.
