 Sims2 Double Deluxe, how to install mods? (read post)

Okay, so i know how to install mods...but that method doesn't seem to be working for this version of the sims 2. Everytime i put anything in the downloads folder that wasn't installed by the sims pack installer, the game refuses to load. Is there a certain way to install .package files on this version? (i'm in windows 7) Help, please?  |

Try putting them in the "Sims 2 Double Deluxe" folder in Documents, rather than the regular Sims 2 one. |

There isn't a "Sims 2 Double Deluxe" Folder in My Documents. All i have there is EA GAMES > The Sims2 |
