Hello.

I have a question about lot classification on Sims 2.

I know there are 3 lot classifications: low | middle | high.

I also know, in real life situation in USA, it is: Upper Class | Upper Middle Class | (Lower) Middle Class | Working Class | Lower Class

So, my question is:
How do I suppose to build houses that relates to classification of lot/real life society?

I mean like, the lot sizes, #of rooms, which build/buy mode items, # of floors, and etc......

If I remember correctly, I think it was the overall price of the lot and the price of the neighbouring lots that governs what classification the lot gets. The only thing this seems to affect anyway are what type of townies (gearhead, bohemian, jock etc.) that you get moving in to your apartments, and what type of apartment noise. The Prima guide says this:
Gearheads: Low
Bohemians: Low/Middle
Jocks: Middle
Techs: Middle/ High
Socialites: High
I did hear that the neighbourhood deco could affect the lot class, so if you put those messy alley ways behind your lot it would lower the class. I'm not sure if that was ever proved to be baloney though!

So I don't think that wall colour or which deco items you use is relevant, but rather how much they cost.

There is some information about the classes and what they are 'in' to, if you are interested, on this site:

Total baloney. I've done extensive testing and neighborhood deco had no effect at all. Price of your lot and the lots within a 6-tile radius are the only things which affect your lot class. Unfortunately, the price which is considered low, medium, or high depends upon the type of the lot: residential, community, apartment, etc. It is much easier to create a high-class residential or community lot than a high-class apartment building. If you have a pricey lot which is not considered to be high-class, then try moving it away from apartment buildings and closer to other high-priced residential.
