I've got the second wimple and veil in progress, I'm having a hard time getting it to be loose and fluttery around the face. I'm still working on the shape and adjusting the lower edge of the wimple to meet the body better. ![]() also for teen and child. The toddler age will have a coif, I haven't linked the mesh yet. Any suggestions on shape or texture for these? ![]() I'm also working on toddler gowns (fourteen meshes). There are two shapes. One is my toddler version of the sims 2 store cf celtic gown. I's not an actual conversion because I hated the shoes and it had really odd mapping. The other is a simple long gown with a cuffed sleeve. ![]() They each have seven shoe (feet) types. I have Bloom's feet on one and Marvine's feet on another for sleep wear, because I have some skins that use Marvine's feet and some that use Bloom's. The textures don't play well with each other. ![]() Why is it that shading never looks right on plaid? ![]() Any suggestions for improving the texture and shading on these will be greatly appreciated

I have the toddler tunic started, I have the same seven foot options on the tunic that were on the gowns, but I added a toddler version of the pirate boots. I'm still not sure about the shading. Is there enough? My graphics card isn't that great because I'm playing/creating on an old laptop. |

From what I see, I think the shading is great! |

Wonderful ideas! At last we will have the real middle ages, not fantasy. Please, finish your work as quickly, as possible! |

Thanks Vampire_of_Death, I'm trying to get them perfect before I submit them. My biggest problem at this point is the pictures. My graphics card isn't very good so my screen shots are always blurry. I'm trying to save for a new computer but bills always eat up my savings. dthjybrf, I'm working as fast as I can on the veil |

Aside from the plaid (which I would give up on, anyway) I don't have any problems with the shading on the toddler outfits. I love your idea to add the pirate boots on one of your toddler outfits, which looks adorable. Regarding the wimple, I think the corners flare out too far from the face and are too angular. The transition from the darker main part of the wimple to the edges isn't gradual enough in my opinion. I don't know if the texture or the normals create this problem. Perhaps it could be fixed by adding more shading to the edge of the wimple. Then again, maybe this irregularity can be attributed to bad graphics like you said. I love your medieval related stuff and your meshes in general and hope you can fix your minor mesh problems. ![]() |

Thank you slar I love making medieval things. That part of the veil hasn't been properly shaded yet. I'm still working on the shape. I have the mesh in milkshape so I'll fix those edges. I was trying to make it look flowy (is that even a word?) I think if I move it back closer to the face I can achieve the same effect with shading. I am going to give up on the plaid and stick to the linen and sims 2 store texture. Those look the best in the game. |

I edited the veil making the changes you suggested slar. I think it looks much better with the shading and the mesh edit. I finished the textures for the toddler tunic set, and put a new texture and added ties to the toddler coif. |

Holy crap, I'm impressed! The veil looks excellent and I'm thoroughly amused by your assortment of toddler sims doing the smustle or whatever. I have one small recommendation regarding the toddler veil; perhaps you could add more shadows around the edges, particularly where the tie of the bonnet bends more toward the toddler's head. Overall I'm astonished by all the work you've done in just a few hours...I'm miserably unproductive and can't help myself from browsing shiny things on the internet, although I've been creating for almost three years. |

The wimple/veil looks amazing now Cynnix! And the coif, wow! Does it exist in child/teen/adult versions too? All of the shoe options for the toddler outfits are great, really, especially the shoes with the strap. I just can't wait to download these. By the way, you could ask someone with better graphics to make preview pictures for you, if it bothers you too much. |

Thanks slar, I added some shadows to the coif near the tie, I'm just waiting for the game to load to see how it looks. I had a whole pot of coffee this morning and was able to get a lot done Thank you Eva! The veil comes in child to elder and the coif is for males toddler to elder. AlmightyHat gave me a few links for female head coverings, I'm making a sort of turban style hat that will be for teen to elder and it will use the same textures as the coif, so I will use that mesh for the toddlers and children. I love the shoes with the strap too, but I think the boots are my favorite. The gown set is submitted, I'm testing the tunic set now. There are fifteen meshes in that set so far lol. The pictures don't bother me, it's just that they are too blurry for uploads. If you are volunteering, I'll gladly send you all the files. I'm willing to barter if there's anything you'd like made that's within my abilities.

I guess that depends on how soon you need your pictures. I have some time after next Tuesday, but definitely not before that. And no coif for the females? :D |

I just submitted the new pictures for the gown set, the tunics won't be finished until next week most likely after Tuesday. Hat said that women didn't really wear them much. I can make it for females as well though if you want it. The meshes are already built. I just put them aside to make the turban style hair. |

I'm striving more for prettiness and variety than historical accuracy, so yes, I would actually like to have the coif for females if it's not a whole lot of trouble. That would be very nice of you.

It's no trouble at all, as soon as I fix the ties on the male mesh(they are assigned to the chest. BAD ideal lol) I'll get the female one finished. I'm working on binning the white veil now, it looks so cute on the little girls. I like the pretty too, I even have some fairytale things mixed in my game because they were too cute to leave out. |

Fabulous, thank you! Just send me the stuff when it's ready then, you can pm me here, or at GoS, or at LJ, or I can give you my emailaddress if you want. And mention what you want pictured exactly (angles and stuff). I've never uploaded to mts, so I don't know what is required. |

Thanks slar ![]() All the ages are done and I think the texture is much better now. I'm not 100% pleased with the animation on the ties but it's the best I can get it. teen ![]() adult and toddler ![]() teen and toddler ![]() child ![]() Do they still need work? I think I may need to move the front of the coif back a bit on the teen and child ages. I'm going to do the four standard hair colors, with one gray. The males are the same except for hair style. I'm thinking about doing another dirty set for peasants. Maybe out of a rougher fabric. |

Looks wonderful! If you are thinking of doing a peasant one, you may like the look of burlap. |

Thanks whitewaterwood, the first set of outfits have been accepted, now I have to finish up the hair meshes ![]() Good call on the burlap VOD, I'm trying to fix the animation on the ties. If I assign the bones to the head they stab into the body. If I assign them to the chest the go at right angles. I guess I need to find the right combination of the two. ![]() ![]() |
