Are they always so rude to other sims? The one thing I haven't been able to handle with Celebrity status is them making people they meet "impress" them, sometimes desperately, just to socialize.

I downloaded a world and made personal modifications (mostly cleaning up the way water looks) to make an island community where everyone has met everyone.

So, it is a bit annoying when Sims with the friendly trait and lifetime wish to have many friends are acting like jerks because they are famous. I do like having fame, because it works well with film stars, musicians, etc.

But are they seriously always rude to anyone they meet that isn't on their celebrity level?

Yes, I haven't met any celebs that have been nice.. You could get a vamp and do the Make [insert celeb name] think about me, then they can socialize straight away.
