Hi everyone,

first let me say that I`ve no idea how to make new objects / meshes for the Sims 3 so my question may be very stupid.

I`m working on a tomb and I would like to have some statues of Sims like Mme Tussauds wax figures. Do you think this is possible and how much work would it be for a complete newbie (until now, I can make paintings only).

Possible, sure. You'd have to export the meshes and textures for a sim's face, hair, and body (clothing is included with the body) and feet/shoes, combine them together into a complete mesh, pose it, and export it as an object. For a complete newbie, it would be VERY VERY challenging. I'd suggest learning to do simpler stuff like make a table first and then see if you're still up for a big challenge like this.

Thanks for your reply!
I was afraid that it would be too challenging.

How much work would it be for an expert??? A day, a week, 3 hours? I really have no idea LOL
Is it outrageous to post a request like that? I really don`t want to step on anyones toes!

Well, for me - someone who's both done objects and sim stuff and knows how to pose sims, I could probably do it in a day if I wasn't interrupted. The main thing would be getting transparency working right on the hair, and getting it posed in a natural-looking way.... And combining all the mapping from the different parts too.

We don't really have a place to post requests, but you can always look in the Where Can I Find forum - there's a list of creators who take requests. Maybe one of them does objects and you can send them a message.

Thanks again!

I don`t want to ask someone to create these statues if it takes soooo long! The process seems to be very complicated.

Instead of the statues, I`ll better make paintings of Sims myself and build another kind of a tomb.

From what I've read in other threads on this topic you can make a statue of your Sim in a pose if you have Ambitions and use testing cheats enabled. I don't have that expansion so I've never had the chance to test it. If you have that expansion maybe you could try that.

I`ll see what Google can tell me about that.

I'm sure someone will correct me in a minute but I thought that option wasn't available in the normal debug menu. I'm sure you have to have Twallan's Debugenabler mod. You'll probably have to read the instructions but I'm sure its when I had that I was able to turn sims into ice/clay/stone/wood statues.

Edit: Once you have it installed I think it should be under options (when you click on a sim) and not sure home many options it takes to get there but what you're looking for is an option called "sculpturify". You will need to check you have the version compatable with your patch level/EPs etc and you should check foe updates whenever you patch.
