I feel like such a n00b, but I've been banging my head against the desk all day trying to figure this one out. I'm created a painting mesh in Milkshape, so I made one long side, one short side, a canvas, and the shadow, then exported it to LithUnwrap. I mapped it, saved it, and exported it back into Milkshape, then continued to use the mapped pieces to finish the mesh. When I was done, I applied my completed texture image as a material to the groups to check out the placement and appearance, and lo and behold, it looked like it was never mapped. I thought maybe I forgot to save it or something, but nope. I've tried recreating it several times (luckily, it's a very simple mesh) to no avail. I'm not new to UV mapping, but I've never encountered this issue before. Anyone know what I'm doing wrong here?

I have a screen door shield.

Select the meshpart in Milkshape and apply your texture to it as material.
Open the texture editor and select the meshpart you just selected in the drop down box
click region and pull a rectangle same size as your painting
select the mapping opions Front then remap the meshpart
Close the texture editor and select textured in the right click menu in 3d view, you painting should show now.
You can go back if it doesn't fit as you wish and move the coordinates arround

If you still want to use lithunwrap then make sure you save the edited uvmap as luv format
That format you can import back in Milkshape

Thanks for the response, BloomsBase! I know I can alter my mapped objects in the texture editor, but I've never done it to unmapped (or seemingly unmapped) objects. Also, I'm going to have to check out the format it was saved as. That may be my problem. My son's on spring break this week, and he goes back to school tomorrow, so I'll be able to work on this then and get back to you. I'll update with my results.

ETA: Well, I feel super foolish now! It wasn't an issue with the mapping, I just had two folders with the same name--one containing the mapped file and one not mapped--and I kept importing the wrong one. I guess I needed a break.
