Hi, I got a question. Though I searched these forum threads, and know how to change custum clothes etc, I wonder wether it is possible to change the career clothing? Or even swap some clothing. An example, having female co-pilot and squadron pilot getting the flightsuit seen only once she's toppilot..... Sho' |

I was wondering that also. This link may have your answer if it is what you're looking for. http://www.modthesims.info/archive/...p/t-129052.html If this works, please let me know. |

The technique given in the above link only works for The Sims 2. If you mean changing clothes from career to everyday or vice versa, the way to change clothing categories is in this tutorial: http://www.modthesims.info/showthread.php?t=354639 . It's quick and easy. But if you mean actually changing which clothes are used at various stages of one's career, that's beyond the scope of the tool used in the above tutorial and would probably require programming skill to change the game's actual coding. But if someone knows different, it would be interesting to know! |

I saw it in a video that if you change into your career clothing and then click 'Plan Outfit' on the dresser it will bring you into CAS and when you go into the clothing section at the top it says 'Career'. Its icon is also blank. |

If you just want to change the texture's then check out this tut http://www.modthesims.info/showthread.php?t=345670. If it's the meshes you want to change then you'd need a GEOM imort/export for the meshing program you use, or if you want to use existing clothing then it should be possible to link it up to the career clothing instead. It can all be done using S3PE, it's great for doing replacements ![]() But if you mean changing the way the uniform's behave then thats coding and unfortunatly I can't help you there. |

hmm, as far as i know you only need to clone your favorite outfit with CTU, no need to export meshes and such except when creating something from scratch. You can open that package with S3PE or Postal and change the instance number of the CAspart to the one you want to replace, thats all there is to it. |

Swapping career clothing with other career clothing is very easy, simple XML tuning, just edit the careers xml. You can also do this to give any job/level you like no uniform at all by deleting the appropriate line. The apropriate lines are structured like: <OutfitMale>[something]</OutfitMale> <OutfitFemale>[something]</OutfitFemale> <OutfitMaleElder>[something]</OutfitMaleElder> <OutfitFemaleElder>[something]</OutfitFemaleElder> The nifty thing about this is that you can change them independently--if, say, the male uniform looks dorky but you like the female one, you can swap only the male. |

The clothing XML files can be edited in any text editor as long as you don't break the tag format. The XML inside the CAS parts is another matter - does anyone know if that XML is actually used in-game? The CASP files are very inconsistent with their XML content and I kind of assumed it's not used but maybe I'm missing something. |

I'm suggesting something much, much less clever than the last three posts are discussing. I think--I don't actually understand all the words they used. The career uniforms are dictated in the Careers xml in the gameplaydata.package. By opening it in S3PE you can edit lines to swap around uniforms. As an example, here's the Careers xml I use. If I recall correctly, the changes I made were to give the Mad Scientist no uniform at all and the World Renowned Surgeon the uniform from level 8 of the medical career. Sounds like more heroic efforts would be needed to introduce an entirely new uniform, I have no idea how one would go about it. |

I know it is 3 years later xD But I did find a VERY SIMPLE way to change the career outfit as you like. Only I am not sure if it will work with everyone, cause it depends on how fast your pc reacts to your orders. I did it like this: * Go to your closet and click "plan outfit" (I use the dutch version of the sims so perhaps it's called different) where you go to edit/create new outfits mode. * On the bottom of the type of outfits you see Career outfits, click that. * Than on the left of the clothes you can pick, you can add a second career outfit. Do that. * When in the second career outfit mode find a clothing part that you are sure of you wanna wear. Click it (not sure if this is unnecessary but I did) * Now click on the first career outfit button and REAL QUICK click on the clothing part you wanted to wear. * The clothing part should now be on your first career outfit. If your game acts fast than you can't click the outfit part. But my game acts quite slow so there is a 5 second delay between the changing of the clothing screen, so I've been able to change it. I made a different save game to be sure but I haven't found problems so far after doing this, but if I do I make sure to add an update. Good luck! people. |

Make sure your Sim is wearing the work uniform you want them to have and then send them to a mirror to Change Appearance. As far as I know that's how it should work. | |
