 Sims 2 pets crashing

I've tried everything in FAQ, I've deleted groups.cache, uninstalled and reinstalled, and tried patching. Nothing seems to be working. Every time I try to play it crashes at the loading screen. Anything else I can try? |

Did you also remove your user files at some point, and test that way? |

I backed up all of the files it told me to and I cut/pasted the files it told me to. |
