I was leaving for dinner and pressed the save button right before leaving and left the game running. I got home, and the game was still saving. I was gone for over an hour. Now, another hour later of looking at all the files and trying to see other things, it's still saving. Is this a normal occurance? It's never taken this long for it to save, which it still is at this second. Like, it's not frozen or anything. The screen is still moving and the mouse is too. Only other weird thing that happend was it randomly minimized itself. (Sorry if this isn't very clear, this is the only way I know how to explain it) |

It's not a normal thing, but it's not exactly surprising either. Do you name your saves sequentially, so that your previous save is called something different - e.g. Riverview1, Riverview2 and so on? You'e probably just going to have to kill the game with Task Manager, which might mess up the save. If it does, you'll have to revert to a backup. |

Thank you for your response. No, I don't save them like that. Just one save file and whatever else my game puts in there. If I must kill the game, I'm pretty sure I can go back to a backup file. I'll try this now. |

Just FYI, I typically don't choose to "Save and Quit". I will choose "Save" (only) and run into much less problems. If you want to quit, do it when it finishes saving and choose "Just Continue".The other way will sometimes hang up just as you said...so save yourself a headache later on. I've had times when it seems to do it a bit more often and, in that case, I will choose Save As and simply choose the same file to write over. |
