woooeoeaaaa. (that's how I feel at the moment)
Looking good! Gosh, I'm so excited. (And I just can't hide it!)
Keep up the great work!
I wish EA had the feature to make us turn walls at the degrees we like.
Oh that would be awesome..
EDIT:
So I was cruising through Las Vegas at Google Maps and ended up at Caesar's Palace and LOOK what I've found.
DD was talking about those in the first comment.. xd

Yep, sex is advertised everywhere on the strip. They have those little American style newspaper stands just filled with sex ads all along the strip too (if you're looking for any for your world there's a nice suburban set over at "aroundthesims3") but my least favourite is the "clicker-clackers" ie the guys that stand around in groups wearing bright t-shirts and shoving cards with naked women in your face. I *#$%*@! hate those guys....and they never let up. Even when I was a week away from giving birth, waddling down the strip apparently they thought I looked like what I'd really like is sex with a hooker! and now when I'm walking down the street pushing a stroller they still offer me them..... just %*#! off will you!?! Its one thing to have it figuratively shoved in your face with all the advertising but to have people literally shove it under your nose when you're just trying to buy an ice-cream is just wrong. It should be legal to punch those guys right in the face!! .........and breathe.....ok, rant over
I love your Bellagio, nice job if you don't already have plans to zone that as anything in particular you could consider making it the art gallery since they have a big one right at the top irl. Just a thought

I know you're still busy with planning and such, but I was wondering if you're about to make a smaller/normal suburb (without estates and villas). If yes, I already could start building houses for that place

Seems like you have a rough life there missroxor. :P
Where I live, there are those people selling things like tvsubscriptions or things that you can become a donator of a found in front of supermarkets.
When they ask you if you have a couple minutes to listen to their story and you say no, they keep coming after you to ask why not and if you really don't have a minute.
I seriously hate those people.

Thank you everyone for your lovely comments! :D
As missroxor suggested it might be great to turn the Bellagio into an art gallery, the ground floor is very spacious and I could build a little bar on the top floor.
I'm sorry you and nikki have such unpleasant experience with annoying people
BTW this is the Caesars, or at least the part of it I've done:
Do you think it's too small? I like how it came out, but it's not very big... And it's Vegas, after all.
Me, me, me against them, me against enemies, me against friends, somehow they all seem to become one, a sea full of sharks and they all smell blood.

Oooh, Caesar's is looking great!!! So very Roman. =)
I would even go so far as to say add more columns! haha
I don't know if it necessarily needs to be any bigger, after all, you're just using it for the pool lot, right? Is that little space in the back an area for restrooms? What else do you do at a pool? Swim, lay out, and shower if needed?

Well i think to make anything vegas sized you'd need several lots for each casino/hotel, and that's just unrealistic. So I think having smaller hotels is fine, as long as you can still capture the right feel and get the main iconic features then it's perfect for the sims. I got so horribly lost in every casino i walked into in vegas, and trying to recapture that scale for sims would probably just blow every computer up. It needs to be workable, and if that means smaller hotels, then i don't see the issue

First suburb. It's addressed to middle-class families.

This is definitely one of the best worlds I've seen so far. Can't wait to see the strip lit up at night 8D

Great stuff so far.
Been there a few times in the last years, so I offer some comments:
- The (real) strip itself is megalomanic with most resorts/hotel at 20+ levels, so within current S3 limits, the only chance to build these would be "shells" (like in S3 Bridgeport), where in theory you could divide up accessible levels to lobby/casino (lower2 or 3) and "upper" living/timeshare/hotel-room (somewhere further up).
From a few miles out, it looks like there's only flat housing all around the strip, with the resorts rising from the very desert to the sky.
- Bellagio looks/"feels" about right, Ceasar's not to shabby either
- Luxor (Pyramid) -i've stayed there twice- the "underpass" is actually the valet parking, so it's no "through traffic" at all. It's a real pity here that one cannot model the interior architecture (it's hollow!) unless some genius appears who helps us get rid of the maximum building level restrictions
- There are several resorts (Mandaly Bay, CityCenter...) that would need high-reflective windows
- I admire the intention, but you will hardly find any farms near Vegas. But hey, this will be SimVegas, so who cares?
- First suburban plot looks good, too. Remember that there are plenty of "master-planned" developments all around
- I also strongly suggest MGM Grand with its golden lion, and the NYNY right on the other side of the road. Also Excalibur with its mix of "Camelot" and "Disneyland castle" features.
- The strip also features several "eateries" from small diners to Hard Rock Cafe, especially on the .
- Don't forget Stratoosphere Tower on the North Strip and several abandoned construction sites
Looking forward to see more...

There's actually quite a few "pick your own" type farms and orchards in and around Vegas as well as horse/cattle ranch type farms though I think the OP is right to keep them on the outskirts of the town

@Bordew5: I have bad news. The Eiffel Tower does NOT light up at night. The only way to have it lit up is to put it in a lot, but in that case it would be way too tall and would look weird (right now what you see of the tower is 1/2, the other half is sunk in the ground)... Hope I'll be able to fix this!
@meyomey: I use the constrainfloorelevation cheat for tall buildings, and it works pretty good. You may agree that there's maybe just one EA shell that would look good in this world (they're more european/NY style). I will build inside the pyramid, it is made of multiple mansard roofs one on the other, so it will be pretty easy to build in it As missroxor said, the outskirts of the town are a great place for farms, I'll probably build just one or two, in the middle of the desert. About the eateries, I created a McDonald and will start building it soon. As for the other casinos, we'll see
BTW, Summerlin (thanks missroxor ) Country Club

The suburb and country club look very nice! Maybe make identical homes on the other side of the street?

Oh, the Country club looks good! I also love the terrainpaint and trees/plants around it.

If you can't make the Eiffel Tower light up it won't be a big deal, all the other buildings colorfully lit up will be cool though, especially being able to raise and lower wall lights you'll be able to create neat signs and such.
Also, an idea you may want to consider, since so many of the resorts are so large you could build some of them on multiple lots; like a hotel on one lot, a pool area on another, and a front lot with large water fountains etc. (:

As always, everything you're making looks perfect! Remember to add casinos like the Cosmopolitan, New York New York, Mandalay Bay, and Circus Circus. (Boy, won't that be challenging?) Circus Circus has the roller coaster and theme park, which will take a lot of time unless you don't want to make it a functional theme park, just a neighborhood decoration. (The purple dome.)

@Bordew: I think it might be better to build a different casinos on each lot rather than one big casino on three lots... But I'll see what I can do
@Lavaster: I'll definitely add the NYNY (there's already an empty lot for it) but I already built the Mirage; the Mandalay is very similar to it, so... As you said the Circus Circus would not be very interesting, since there's no way to create a functional theme park in TS3. There are only waterslides!
Anyway, an under-20k neighborhood:
...and a pic of the highway, I placed dry grass and more realistic terrain paint

Nitpicking, I know, but there's a piece of grass going through the stone. xd
Looking good. I love the lowbudget houses! Reminds me of GTA. xd

Los Santos rock!
Houses in Las Venturas were better than these though.
This is the Strip so far:
You can see the Mirage (question: if I save this lot, then place it in, like, Riverview, get the lights' color changed though a Sim, then save it again and place it here in Vegas again, will I have customized lights? Or do they come back to white light?), the Venetian (which is almost finished), Caesar's, Bellagio, a draft of the Paris (which will contain, obviously, a Little Corsican Bistro) and Planet Hollywood. In front of it there will probably be NYNY.

Oh, Gabry, seriously. Because you're making this world I want to play GTA San Andreas again.
I've played and finished that game for like three times because I'm so addicted to it. xd I never get enough of it.
The strip is looking good already. I'm looking forward to see it even more filled with flashing lights and stuff.
It's too bad that you can't edit the amount of cars in a city. That would be like awesome if it was filled with cars. xd

You're right, but I can still edit the .ini files and make the neighborhood a city. Which means lots of empty cars and taxis wandering around town without any reason, lol. Better than nothing!

You can actually adjust those light in Edit in Game .Just hold down control and shift at the same time and click on the light .It should then give you all of the ingame lighting options . Keep up the good work .Your Las vegas is looking pretty darn good.
