Empty Clubs? #1 | |

HEY! I POSTED THAT THREAD ALSO IN THE HELP FORUM, I DON'T KNOW WHERE CAN I POST IT Well, I don't know a lot of english, i'm 13, i'm spanish and in English Subject i had got 10/10... Well, let's go. I've got ALL the Sims 1 games, the sims 2 games and the sims 3 games (and Medieval) and my computer goes a little slow, but in my Sims 3 House i haven't got "gameplay" problems... The problem is when, in Bridgeport (i haven't got bars and clubs in other worlds) I go to ANY bar or club... I think I went a lot of times to hotspots and no-hotspots and there only are the employers! There aren't townies, so I need to dance alone... Or make a party, but that's "painful"... My DeviceConfig.log file is this:
Code:
I read that the most important part is the Rating Info, so my CPU is rated "1"... in another thread I saw that it wana say that i can have got 4 sims (false false false, i've 0 sims!!!) Please, I hope you help meee!!!!! PD: I don't need "Computer lessons", sorry for the immodesty, but I'm a expert of this theme... I just want to know why this fantastic EP goes really really bad!!! Thanks! |

I believe for best result, you need your CPU and GPU to be rated all 4 (highest). Currently GPU rated 3 and CPU rated 1. Don't change the log, it is only a report. There is a tutorial to show you how to change how TS3 sees your computer settings. It is in one of the older "No sims in club or bar" post. You may as well refer to them. I think I found the link: http://nene.modthesims.info/showthr...253#post3472253 |

If you have an Intel CPU you don't need to change anything that says AMD. |

If you scroll a little down you will see the same configuration for Intel CPU. Do the changes there.

Ok,ok! Thanks! Only another question... does the game go slowly or badder if I change it? I changed it, then i have 5 Sims at the bars (but they arrive, and they they go away), but there are some graphic errors ("fusion" of objects and sims...), then I backed up the default Graphics.Sgr file, and there aren't errors... Is for this change? THanksthanks thanks!! |

There is no telling exactly if it will improve or make things worse, especially not from just knowing your computer spec alone. However, the main reason for changing GraphicsRules.sgr is that, and I just quoted from the tutorial I read this from, Sims 3 has its own way to assess user computers and categorize them as such written in GraphicsRules.sgr. To the game, there are 4 types of CPU in the world, ranking from 1 to 4, and for whatever your scores written in GraphicsRules.sgr TS3 will decide what your game play experience can or cannot get in order to not overload. And also from the tutorial, TS3 assessment sometimes can be seriously wrong as they have given examples of certain computer specs that TS3 thought to be "much weaker" than what they are. Thus it is like you are sitting in a Porsche and the system think you are driving a Prius, thus, you are allowed to drive as fast as a Prius only. So I guess, the only thing you can really do is to guestimate a set of scores for your computer. Or if you feel like you want to play around, you can start out with giving the max score on everything. Worst come to worst, assuming your computer is running perfectly, you may end up having a lag fest with 10fps in TS3. It should not "blow up". Looking at your spec again, TS3 giving you "1" as CPU score is quite low. If you don't dare going to 4 (which is max), at least give it 2 and 3. If you want to know, I have Quadcore Q9450 with 12Mb L2 Cache, 2.66Ghz, 1.3GHz FSB (info from http://www.intel.com/products/proce...ifications.htm). Although I have 4 CPUs in my computer, TS3 can only see and use 2 of them. Windows 7 can divert some workload to the other idling CPUs (like this browser is running on maybe the 3rd CPU right now). I gave my CPU score a 4. And so far I am running without problems. Also, my graphic settings are mostly medium beside Object Details and Sim Details set to max. TS3 were not made to run that efficient, because I can easily play all latest 3D games with max graphic setting with my computer. |

Really, really, really thankyou!!! I'm going to check if the graphic errors are the same playing in the same world with the same sim, so if there are errors, I put again the modyfied GraphicRules.Sgr ... but I think that it isn't necesary, because the sims arrive to the club and then they lift, so I preffer doing a party. One more thing: in a laptop (Acer Aspire 6930) is possible to change the CPU ???? THaks! |

When it comes to laptop, the only 2 things you can really change are RAM and harddrive. |

In a laptop, it might be possible to change the CPU. However, that's very dependent upon what the laptop motherboard supports. |

That is true. But unlike desktops, laptops' CPU were designed without changing CPU in mind. I believe most of their CPUs are soldered in as well. Along with the lack of documentation from manufacturer (they really don't want you to change CPU beside replacing the exact one), it makes things so much harder. When I still had my deskjob as IT staff at in a company of around 500 employees, if nothing else can be done beside "upgrade RAM, reinstall Windows, fine tuning with msconfig" then the next obvious step is getting a new laptop. The hassle of upgrading for maybe 10-20% extra speed is totally not worth it. There are some shops specialized in this, but the labor cost may just turn you to buy a completely new laptop.
