I recently added the sims 3 generations to my sims collection, but ever since Iinstalled it all sorts of weird things happen. These are my current errors: - I hired a butler but for some reason he's stuck on the second floor of the house (one big black spot because there are no rooms on that floor just a staircase in the corner to go to the third floor). I can't see him but I know he's there because he asks for a paycheck every week and when I click on his pic the camera goes to that spot. He doesn't die. You can only hear him complaining like a creepy poltergeist all the time - Second: everytime I ask another sim outside the family to come over it automatically turns into a date or a going out with a group thing. Really annoying. - Third: Everytime I tell my sim to do the laundrey they stop halfway and throw it on the floor. - Right now it's supposed to be daytime in the game (1:00 pm) but it's still dark! Does anybody know how to fix these problems? I'm getting sick of them! thanks.... |

I think you need to provide a touch more detail for people to help (that's if this thread doesn't get moved to another section). Did you build the house yourself or significantly alter a building/apartment? (as it sounds like you're playing Late Night) Altering apartments is a bit of a minefield if you don't add/remove room markers and NPC doors and so on .. it's a bit bonkers really, as they are not like other houses. Are you using any custom content downloaded from anywhere? - possible Mod conflicts could contribute to your problems. Regarding the 'group/date thing' this happens automatically now - when you invite someone over it's a group (even if it's just two of you) and it's a date if your sims are attracted. |

The house is indeed custom content, but does that also explain why it's still dark in the game?

to be honest Aennie, nothing would surprise me ... depends who made the house and their experience in making such houses, where you downloaded the house from, even down to if the house was play-tested by the maker, and if you got it from somewhere like The Exchange, god knows what you've got going on. |

I am under the impression that Bridgeport has longer night time than other neighborhoods (but never really bothered to prove myself right or wrong). But even in Bridgeport, 1pm means sun light. Before you blame the custom downloaded lot, you can go to Edit Town and see if your town is dark or bright? I mainly play Bridgeport, so at 1pm I believe I see shadows of trees casting on the ground. You can see this effect clearly at the park or other community lots. Fairycake89 already covered the group/date thing happen automatically. But I have to say that Butler is known to be quite buggy the entire time since their existence in TS3. Not sure if they updated butlers in Generations but definitely they have been buggy before this EP. My story: Within the same city of Bridgeport, from the same save game either, one household has a perfect Butler who is so wonderful (sleep in her bed, shower, do laundry, cook, sometimes even fix broken stuff) and another household 2 miles down the road has another Butler who refuses to sleep (just drink coffee all day), refuses to shower (and forever smelly), and does nothing but cook cook cook while dirty laundry is .... EVERYWHERE. I tried everything I knew, and nothing makes the household better, so they just have to live without one. While the other lucky household, I shall not question the wonderful butler but just say they got lucky. Laundry is pretty consistent for me. But sometimes maybe their paths are blocked or the actual machines may be in use, so they have no choice but to drop laundry in the ground. Sometimes they do put in their inventory, but other time they drop on the ground. I do notice sometimes washing machines get stuck in "working" mode. There is no longer a timer on it but the light is always on as if it is still running. Clicking on it gives no option, and it is not broken so I can at least repair or call repairmen. When this happens I just have to replace the machine. It doesn't happen a whole lot though. |

I work for a living, but I don't necessarily live for a working. |
