More realism... is a bad idea!
Who wants to play a game where all you do is boring stuff.
"I went to lunch, then I went back to my cubicle to check my stocks. Then I went home. Then I slept crying about how boring my life is. Then I got up and had breakfast with my dog named Lethargic."
Obviously this is an exaggeration. But if anything I want more fantasy elements like for example, the return of the aspiration failures from the sims 2. They would have to rework them to traits or LTWs rather than aspirations but it could work. The point is that they were funny.
Ever since The Sims Livin Large, there have been wacky, fun, unrealistic elements to the games, and that's why they are fun.
If you like realism so much, then why play such an exaggerated game about life? Why not enjoy your own life while you still have it?
Plus, no video game can be completely realistic at this point anyways. Wait for the Holodeck, it will eventually exist.
Anyways that is my view on it.
