I'm currently creating a mod that will allow your simmies to use "Mood Enhancement Pills" (let's keep it PG). Basically, I will be hopefully be adding mechanisms such as "Addiction", "Side Effects" and maybe even "Overdosage". But it's not all bad, the sims will also acquire good buffs etc. Well I have some questions about how buffs work!

1. I saw a thread before that contained information on creating a basic buff with your own description and graphic. However, this only changes the mood of the sim. What I want to do is create buffs that affect your sim's behaviour, such as the "buzz" buff which stops your sim being tired, or the sickness buff which causes your sim to periodically feel sick and then vomit at the end of it's lifetime. How do I create these complex buffs?

2. As an extension to one, how do I (which is what happens with the buzz buff too) cause the sim to gain a new buff once one buff has finished it's duration? I know ani had a workaround for his/her drinks mod (the sickness buff was applied at the same time as the sugar rush buff only it was double duration). But I don't like this idea and don't want sims to experience overlapping effects.

3. Would it be possible to a new Profession (ALA Ambitions) called "Drug Trafficking" which allows a sim to go to different community lots and offer mood enhancers for a price to people (I'll probably use the friendly hug animation for the actual deal since that's how it's done descretely in real life). Similar to the work at home painter job so that there are no fixed hours, your sim just goes out and makes money whenever or wherever. Plus, i'd like strangers to have an autonomous interaction with dealer sims called "ask for..." whatever depending on their motives.

I know this mod sounds massive but I will probably do it in steps. I plan on getting the actual enhancers created first, probably cloning the "Experimental Drug Treatment" object followed by giving other sims the pills then creating the profession.

Hope this is clear enough! And I hope the subject of the mod isn't too offensive to post here, I noticed the sexysims2 forum no longer works.

then look on the New Self-Employed Jobs... ( Open the .package file etc. )

Thanks for the help! I'd like to create my own though from scratch without the use of another mod. Can anyone help me with any of my questions?

I'll try but your best bet is to modify what he has to what you want to do, or at least until you have a good foot in script modding.

Well, I can script mod pretty fine. Perhaps I should just get off my butt and look in .NET reflector first, however usually I end up breaking something doing it that way.
