C
Convenience store

Covered bridge
(can be considered a 'historic site')

Card club
(Run by the local organized crime syndicate. An innocuous cover business out front, nothing but poker tables in the back room [or upstairs, in the basement, whichever.])

F
Fishing park

N
Nature walk park (long boardwalk path with lots of trees, bushes and flowers, things like that)

S
Sculpture garden

V
Vacant Lot
(This is a hang-out/make out spot for teens; no business, just a rundown shack maybe, a barbecue grill, lots of benches, bushes and trees; I usually use all trashed CC and it needs a mod like visitor controller to keep out all ages but teens. If you have problems with visitor controller, you might try JM Pescado's customer selector - I'm not positive, but it might work on unowned community lots, too. It might be worth a try.)

I read the whole thread, but it's hard to remember all of them! Wow, a lot of great ideas here. Sorry if I've repeated suggestions, though.

As far as I can tell, nearly all of the assorted files from SimWardrobe are on that site, and if you go to Simbology there is a thread titled "Paladin's Hack" that has a few other files submitted by various other people that didn't get into the file because they just wouldn't fit into the site-being too large a set. PsychoSim has posted a link to the set of Uni-compliant arcades in that thread-and there is a version of those submitted by Zirconia Wolf for Pets and above.

Well, that's a real shame. I've been DL Paladin's stuff since Sims 1. He did some great things. Good thing I DL the rifle when I did - Fergus Crims can murder that annoying townie in his own good time now.

Edit:
Oh Fran, I just saw your update. Good news - well not good that Paladin has been ill but good news he's coming back. I was just thinking, I don't know what I'd do without his SimCat. If you can, let him know people in the community sympathise and wish him well.

Antique/Thrift store - for all those miscellaneous decor items (clutter and knick-knacks).

Nursery - for plants, trees, etc.

Painting Gallery - for paintings and other wall hangings.

Fine Art Gallery - for all the various statues.

Bed/Bath store. - Exclusively for selling high-end beds or high-end bathroom fixtures. (Only because I feel a furniture store isn't really feasible in the sims world if you want your sims to buy with some variety and options, so I break the furniture down into smaller stores, one store for kitchen counters and appropriate sinks, another store for bathtubs, showers, toilets, another store for dinette sets, another store for the home office furniture, another store for sofas and loveseats, another store for outdoor furniture, etc.) The cheap furniture they can buy from the catalog or the thrift store.

Stables - so your sims can buy all the farm animals they want. You can do this with or without the Pets ep.

Boardwalk - a beach front park, hangout, where they can grill hot dogs, hamburgers, etc. If you have BV.

Putt putt golf - I downloaded some stuff to make this possible from somewhere.

Zoo - for all the various animals we collect just because they are so great. The sims can go look at them in a parklike setting.

Carnival - there is the downloadable ferry wheel that is rideable, not sure if there is a merry-go-round. Can be combined with the zoo or boardwalk or putt-putt golf.

Take out food - Take your pick, sims can cook a bunch of different kinds of meals. I tried to limit mine to themes. Like I had an Italian take out, Seafood/fish take out, pizza take out (so my sims never had to order a pizza delivered), and I even had a breakfast take out. Just because I wanted a variety of stores and my restaurant owners could make more money than they would from dine-in only.

Themed restaurants. Only with OFB businesses can you modify the menus so that the restaurant only sells specific foods, like Mexican, Italian, chinese, etc. I didn't think there was much variety without cc and I always removed the drinks from the menu so stupid sims wouldn't waste time and hog up tables for hours sipping water or a soda.

Hi, all: I have some very good news!

It seems that SimWardrobe is not dead-merely MIA for the moment-the owner, James Sausville, has been in the hospital, and dealing with surgery; while this was going on, there were issues with his hosting service, GoDaddy, and the site was mistakenly taken down in his absence.

He has told one of our members that he will be dealing with the issues with his hosting when he gets out of the hospital but that meanwhile has requested that none of his files be put in the graveyard-SimWardrobe is not gone, but just out of action until he personally deals with the hosting service.

In a message to him our member told him where there were some of his files temporarily in another place available for the time being, with his kind permission. We will be taking them down once his site is restored-hopefully very soon.

Thanks for the compliment, Simonut-after all the years I've been in the community, I thought it was time to give back some of the help I've received over the years. I can't create to save my life, but I can do other things to help anyone who needs it.

I love all these ideas -- some really fun sounding ones to try! One time I made a natural hot springs site in my hood -- that was really fun and my sims loved it -- whenever I played that community lot, loads of sims would visit!

Find all of my Challenges in MTS Sims 2 Challenges "Ye Olde" Section:
Vllygrl's By George! Regency Play Style/Challenge; Regency/Victorian ROS;
The Medieval Charter Challenge & ROS for MCC;
The Crown of Laurels Challenge; & Besieged! New Medieval Challenge & Medieval ROS.

I like to make a building for all of my sims to "work" at.

Actor - a tv studio
Adventurer - N/A, they explore the vacation areas
Architect - a construction office
Artists - well, most of them work out of their homes, but a museum to display their work in
Athletes - A stadium to play at and a gym to work out at
Business - some kind of banks, or they also tend to run small businesses
Criminal - Some kind of shady business... casino, strip club, italian restaurant.
Culinary - the more themed restaurants, the merrier: italian, mexican, indian, fast food, super high class food, some kind of asian, vegetarian
Dance - Ballet Studio
Education - a school
Entertainment - Night Club with a stage
Gamer - Arcade
Intelligence - Sim FBI/CIA building
Journalism - Newsroom
Law Enforcement - Police station
Lawyer - law firms (plus town hall has a court room)
Medic - Hospital
Military - well, I have a whole subhood for that
Musicians - some kind of music hall/area with a stage, or a recording studio
Oceanographer - Some kind of aquarium or an ocean lot
Politician - town hall
Science - a laboratory or observatory
Slacker - Gas stations/golf course/night clubs

Some other lots I usually make:
grocery store
Post office
cemetery
Real estate agency
A community garden
library

There were alot of suggestion here @MajinKitty230. If you have a specific item you're lookin for you can try and look and/or post over in the WCIF and you might have more luck in someone bein able to help you.

Knowing what you are looking for would make it easier, but some of these can be furnished with stuff already in your game.

For instance:

Arcade: pinball machines
Bowling Alley: everything for this is in game
Bar: any bar under party, tables and chairs, pool table, dart board
Bed Store: Any bed in game
Dance Studio: ballet bar, stereo
Flower Shop: any plant in game and/or Floral Workstation
Furniture Store: any furniture in game
Gym: any and all exercise machine, pool, stereo, and/or tv

Thanks for telling me this! I mean I assumed with some of the things you could use in-game objects / build stuff but I wasn't sure if there were other CC items for them too but seeing a few that I can already make is sweet!

There is a lot of great CC out there to help you furnish a business. I use these bread racks in my bakery. http://modthesims.info/d/229471 You can't buy bread from them, but you can buy food stock, and it still goes with the decor of a bakery.

If you decide on a business and you need CC to help in the decor, just ask in WCIF and someone will help you.
