Can anyone tell me why this is happening? I turned off the game now, but when I was on buy mode the normal music played, and then it continued to play when I was on live mode. I tried turning the music off and on again, but it stayed the same, even in the neighbourhood it continued with the normal neighbourhood music. Maybe when I turn the game on later it will work, but for now I'm still puzzled why this happened. Does anyone know what the problem could be?

  • Sims 3 - Game Problems
For generic game related issues, please see this FAQ:Try each of the steps listed to either solve the problem or rule out Custom Content as the cause.

Check hardware - most likely the sound drivers need updating.

Or ...
If you play with CC, do the FAQ linked above - all 3 steps. Does it happen in cc-free, vanilla game?
If you don't have CC, do it anyway. We want to test if it is CC issue or save game issue or Program Files' gamedata issue.

If you play with CC, and after step#3, the problem is gone,
- do you already have a StoryProgression mod? Eg: see Sims_3_Content_List:Game_Mods_and_Hacks#Story_Progressionwiki
- do you already have a mod to turn off stereos in Inactive Lots? Eg: Overwatch @Nraas, Awesomemod @Maty

Don't worry, it's fixed now. I restarted the game and it's working great now. Thanks for the help anyway! If it does happen again, I will check back to this thread though, just in case it may be a problem that a restart won't fix.

A restart releases the hold a process has on whatever causes the sound looping in the first place.

So, if you need a restart to make it go away, means that Sims 3 is not releasing the proper resources when switching from one mode to the other. And it may well happen again, once the same circumstances present itself as it did the first time you get the issue.
