Mod The Sims - Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows pt. 2 SPOILERS

Okay, so I thought the movie was absolutely amazing. In chronological order of brain happiness/sadness

Invasion of Gringotts
- - This was done really well. The dragon looks both anazing aand sad because they make it seem so malnorished and mistreated. Helena Bonham-Carters portrayal of Hermione is fantastic, one of my favorite parts.
- - - NEW DEATH:

Hogsmeade
- - This being where HRH meet Aberforth, it's spot on. When I first saw Aberforth I thought it was Michael Gambon playing him. Ariana is also there, but we don't get Dumbledore's back story. They mention that Ariana died for his cause but they don't go into the depth of the books. Its similar to Kreacher's tale in the movie

Battle of Hogwarts:
- eh hem...
OMGITWASTHEMOSTFANTASTICTHINGEVERAHHBRAINEXPLOSION NEVILLE AND LUNA ARE ETERNAL BADASSES AND MOLLY WEASLEY WAS ALL LIKE "NOT MY DAUGHTER YOU BITCH" TO BELLATRIX AND NAGINI AND LUPIN AND TONKS AND I TOTALLY SAW OLIVER WOOD ON A BROOM AND NOBODY CAN MAKE ME THINK OTHERWISE SO THERE!!!!!!!!!!

So, lets make some sense of that
- Fantastically done
- No return of Nearly-Headless Nick but Luna manages to tell Harry about the Grey Lady
- We get to see Ron and Hermione in the Chamber of Secrets (I love that place) and they KISS
- McGonagall activates all the armor and statues in Hogwarts with a spell and following this she says "I've always wanted to use that spell"

- Neville and Seamus blow up the bridge leading to an entrance to Hogwarts. They get permission from McGonagall and when Neville expresses doubts about being able to explode the brids McGonagall just said "Just you get help from Mr. Finnigan he seems to have an affinity for pyrotechnics"

geddit? Because Seamus would always have things blow up?
- During the fight scene, A formation of people on broomsticks fly over and one of them says "This way" I didn't get a good look at his face but I'm willing to bet most things that was Oliver Wood (I read some interview with Sean Biggerstaf (Wood) that he has a blink-and-you-miss-it cameo and I know that was it
- Fred DIES

and it's really sad but I was a wee bit distracted because GEORGE HAS A FRIGGIN EAR AGAIN HE'S SUPPOSED TO BE HOLEY!!!!!!
- You don't see Lupin and Tonks die (which I thought hollywood may do the fools) but you see their beaten mangled bodies lying on stretchers

- Neville finds the sorting hat in some rubble and the sword of Gryffindor presents itself to him. No flaming hat.
- Neville grows a pair
- Neville was one of my favorite parts
- NEVILLE

Snape's Death
- instead of the shrieking shack, Voldemort suck refuge in some sort off boat house with glass walls similar to a greenhouse but with diamond shapes instead of rectangles
- it's REALLY GOOD
- Snapes memories come out as tears instead of with the blood which I think is a bit cleaner
- Snape's memories were AMASING little Lilly is suberb and everything is pretty much explained
- one qualm: Petunia thinks she's a freak the whole time instead of being driven into that spot by jealousy

Into the Forest
- They have Lily, James, Sirius, and Lupin as ghostly apparitions which I'm so glad they kept. It was so touching
- Harry's death was just how I imagined it. DR's acting was suberb

King's Cross
- It was great to see Dumbledore again
- The thing underneath the chair (the part of Voldemort's soul that was destroyed) actually looks like Voldemort so it's more obvious what it really is
- No mention of the hallows or Dumbledore's quest for them or any of that highly packed emotional stuff

I may have read the book umpteen times but I still want to be surprised at the film! Now, I really loved p.1 because it was very true to the book - is p.2 the same way?

Ahem. /rant I manage to contain my scream of rage until the lights went up. I'm thinking of going back to see it again with the last of my theatre points, just so I can relax and enjoy the movie without trying to contain my rage.

DigitalSympathies Mad Poster Join Date: Feb 2010 Posts: 3,901 2 Achievements	In the beginning of the movie where they had the students marching and Snape was standing there (yes, I do NOT know how to add spoiler tags so beware) it was like D: D: D: because he nailed the whole "emotions going through your mind" look right then and there. I bawled throughout the entire scene with Lily and him.
