Thanks for the link. I'll check them out right now.

I must say I was impressed by the OFB clothes collection. There are a lot of 'realistic' choices which I can easily imagine people wearing from different ages.

A lot of custom clothes, I have found, is what you'd expect celebrities and super models to wear. Whereas I like the simple, wear-it-for-a-week outfits. P:

Disagree away!

Yes, some of the OFB clothes were pretty decent. Like the button down shirts with pants for men and the casual Lynette from Desperate Housewives outfit for women. Those I like. But that pack also came with a lot of what-the-fuckwear:

Gorilla costume (which works as a costume/uniform but not as an Everyday outfit)
Jodphur pants and boots (appropriate Everyday wear maybe...for a lion tamer)
Diver suit (even though sims can't scuba dive)

Just to be clear, I don't dress my sims like supermodels or celebrities either (unless I want them to be supermodels or celebrities). I have sims that dress frumpy every now and then, some grungy, some conservative, some preppy, some slutty, some more glamorous than others and some with clothes that you'd find at Walmart.

Here's one I use as a default replacement for an OFB outfit. I wouldn't consider it high fashion but I like that it's simple, comfortable and easy on the eyes.

I find myself either using an H&M outfit or a custom outfit most of the time. I have TONS of clothing downloads. Some of those other outfits have me scratching my head and wondering about whoever designed them!

I wish we didn't have to rely on so much CC just to have clothing that is appropriate for our sims and in the right category. I am actually considering deleting all my default replacement clothes but I can't stand the thought of parting with them.

If I ever do delete my replacements I'll have to get a stuff pack (maybe more than one) to make up for the lack of custom clothing in my game. Right now H&M seems to be the only pack that comes with a lot of clothes for adult males and females and I've already got it. Maybe getting Teen Style Stuff and a few adult/teen/elder conversions can ease the pain...lol.

Here are some replacements that I can't seem to let go:

Someone converted the cardigans from H&M as separate tops to replace a few base game shirts that I thought were meshed well but badly textured. I prefer the colors of the replacements I got.

I also got jeans with converse to replace the ones from the base game. I like the texture of the new jeans better and if I don't want all my female sims wearing converse I can always use the jeans from H&M that come with heels and another pair of shoes. It's nice to be able to pick and choose.

For men I replaced my least favorite outfit with something more comfortable. Better texture. I also like the solid colors of the shirt and shorts. The outfit is more flattering on various skintones instead of just one.

The last one replaces a female outfit that I've only used once. It's a little more sophisticated, I'll admit, but it's easier on the eyes and has a better mesh than its counterpart.

I wish the game came with more sophisticated clothing that us people would actually WEAR. The selection for children is HORRIBLE, and there's not enough for toddlers. The elder's clothing I don't like.

I am a Slytherclaw! And totally the obvious demigoddess daughter of Aphrodite, pssh heck ya.

Not me. I'm gonna "agree away." I recently got rid of 99% of my non-formal custom clothes because I generally wasn't using them, so why have it taking up space? Most of what I kept was for men and children with just a few women's things that I really like. I do have a few default replacements still but...generally, I can't be bothered.

Maybe it's because I don't do "storytelling" in the game, so what a Sim wears is generally irrelevant to me? More likely, it's just a case of my general fashion apathy bleeding into my playing. So, unless a Sim ages into an outfit in which the colors clash so badly that it hurts to look at them, I'll generally just leave them be. Well, OK, I confess that I don't like much of the stuff that came with Nightlife, so if a Sim gets one of those outfits, they'll get a new one. But other than that...meh.

Redmond Flats, my eleventy-th stab at a "Build A City" challenge. Unfortunately, I didn't keep up with documenting it. But you can find rules and tracking spreadsheets and stuff there.
For stuff what I've made, there's my LJ. There be downloads there, some of which aren't/won't be here on MTS.

I actually like a lot of the clothing for elders that came with Apartment Life. I think most of those outfits make them look dignified. And the elder dresses that came with Seasons...I actually like those.
