Another thing I didn't think of the first time around: I would like an improved version of their weekly events. It seems we haven't had any new ones since the base game. There's only so many times you can partake in a eating contest. Maybe an art showcase? A delicious pie contest? Local community band playing music in the park? Just something that will actually make me want to rummage through the newspaper for new events in town. Forcing my sim to sit in a rabbithole while you explain the action doesnt cut it either. Plus with all the EPs we have and are going to get, there's dozens upon dozens of events that can be created. Free tattoo day? Free treats if you bring your pet to the park day? See the Snake Charmer from Al Simhara at the museum day?

If you have world adventures, create a world, and The Multi Owners Door, you can create somewhat of a hotel.

In create a world after going to edit town mode, you can change the lot type to Base Camp, then make your hotel. For the rooms you want to be actual hotel rooms, you use the Multi Owners Door and set it up to who you want to access the room.

The only problem I've found with this method is that Sims can use it for free.

i want one-sided relationships! how likely is it that every time you like a sim they like you back? i find it kind of infuriating; go on two dates and both sims automatically are down for marriage and kids. TS2's way was better.
i also demand aliens. perhaps aliens that actually look like aliens and not just green sims, but i won't hold my breath.
as i mentioned in another post, i want centaurs. god i really, REALLY want centaurs.
i want university back, and seasons.
i've also been thinking back to sims 1 which i only remember vaguely, and i want some of the celebrity-related things from that. i seem to remember a modeling career? and they'd read the tabloids! that's not one of my major wants, but i really think an ambitions-like modeling career would be kind of cool.
more interactions in general.
oh and i want kids to be able to play instruments! what kind of afterschool activity is ballet? unless they made that into a potential career or at least skill...i want a ballet career and/or skill, and i want my kids to be forced into piano lessons!

i guess the whole idea of sims is a kind of sitcom family ordeal with some eccentricities, but sometimes i wish there was more to it. WA kind of did that. i'm not sure exactly what i would want added to it to make it less mundane (sometimes the whole get-a-job-have-kids-die thing gets old), but WA sort of did it, and i'd like something else to make it more exciting in that way.

also i sort of wish they'd just put out an expansion pack of the main things they had in TS2 but didn't put in TS3. just miscellaneous interactions they left out for no real reason, little things like that. not like all of the old expansion packs put together, but the things they left out of late night that they had in nightlife, the things they left out that were included in apartment life, private school (where the headmaster comes over for dinner!), etc.

perhaps i am too demanding.

That is true, but I'd prefer a 'real' one, you know? Thanks for the suggestion though, I must look into that.

Werewolves!!!

Sub-Hoods - Like in TS2. It'll never happen now, but I really think they should have included some era themed sub hoods to visit through the time machine, like a future hood (or space hood) and a past and prehistoric hood (with dragons..)

University.. - How can some sims brag about being a Doctor.. "Oh really? Where'd you study?" *ehem...*

Translation/Accents - Especially for WA, I was hoping for the opportunity for sims to learn the language of the place they were going to visit. I was waiting to hear locals with the 3 voices, but with an accent. I wanted to see animations of tourists getting frustrated over translation problems.

Baby dragons from Sims 1 (remember fire alarms in -every- room, and make sure to have one on the outside wall as well.)
Uni (Why do so many people want it back, when so many people were calling it the lamest Sims 2 pack?)
Don't make the Unicorns look/act like they came out of a My Little Ponies collection? Please? (Assuming the speculation is right and that's what we get.)
the ability to create Vacation Hoods that are not just a default replacement for one of the 3 we already have
more venues that are NOT rabbitholes
The ability to actually operate a home business that isn't a cookie stand
The ability to make simbots look different from each other. Maybe even humanoid

Did you ever see how a Sim doctor treat a patient? It is kind of similar to how Sims upgrade items. Kick it and see if it works. We should be happy that they are not holding a wrench when they are treating a patient

I would like to see the University too, even though that might create boring Doctors who stop kicking sims in the shins

I'd like to see the kids/teens take tests in school. Maybe make the library useful for studying

I would love to have the sub-hoods back. I know that with the open world, you can have a downtown area and such, but it would be nice to be able to connect different worlds so your Sim can travel to them or have long distance friends.

My biggest fear with having university back is that it will be just like the boarding schools. Sure, it was nice at first to get the kids away, but then you pretty much miss out on a life stage due to them being gone with a rabbit hole. I'm sure you could drop out of college if they implemented it, but it still wouldn't be the same to me.

I would love to have accents. I thought Sims medieval did a great job with it, and it would have been nice to have it for world adventures. I'm sure it would have been difficult to make three different languages aside from Simlish, but accents would have been cool.

Returns:
  • Slow dancing, I miss that! Or at least some other kind of 'romantic dance'
  • Group dances like the smustle and hula etc.
  • Actual vacation destinations! I liked sending my sims to hotels with beaches and stuff.
  • WEATHER! One of the things I miss the most..
  • The little roller coasters from The Sims: Makin' Magic.. They were great, it was hilarious watching your sims reactions.
  • Spa things like from The Sims: Superstar, plus the sky diving machine thing and the diving tank thing!
  • Diving boards and pool slides.. I have no idea what EA are planning, but they need to bring diving boards back soon!
  • Watch the clouds/Stargaze. I liked it when sims could do that
  • The 'Hang Out' interaction.

New Things:
  • More actions for toddlers to other toddlers, the only one we got really was 'Hug/Cuddle' that came with one of the EP's for TS2.
  • More group activities, like sport things like tennis or something, or volley ball back from TS1
  • Walking interactions, I've ALWAYS wanted things like that, like holding hands while walking, or linking arms, etc.
  • If/when they make a weather type EP: Needing an umbrella while it's raining would be cool, if you didn't have one, you'd get a negative moodlet and possibly a cold
  • Leashes/Leads for dogs and maybe cats! Like with strollers, but in stead, having their dog/cat on a lead..

I could go on forever

The smustle! OH how I miss the smustle. =/

I've never played Sims 1, I jumped on the band wagon for Sims 2. But after I read all of these amazing things that Sims 1 had, I feel like I missed out. =[

I made the library useful by removing all bookcases and computers from my residential lots. I have better things for my sims to do than sit around playing with the computer all day, and TS3 computers are made from crack.

This is why we can never have nice things!

Yeah, I don't see any point in bringing back University unless they could make it into an interactive 'career' like they did with ghost hunter, fire fighter, and investigator.

i really want colleges. like where theres a really long road from your town to a college similar to the one in ts2. except i doubt that this will ever happen cause there would be so much more stuff and i know it would kill my laptop

Maybe even just an in town rabbit hole they could go to for lectures and that, or for actual college (like 6th form) they could also attend the school.

Maybe apprenticeships are the way forward - learn on the job, so you get "enrol" options at places like the science facility/salon/Fire Department/Hospital/Town Hall.

I really want the handyman and maid careers to be available for everyone. I know plumbers wouldn't have much weight in this game, but some sims are just made for that job.. plumbers, lol.. shows how imaginative my game is, ahaha.. Dustin Langerak, for example..

What needs to return:

~Customizable (and open, of course) stores/restaurants, etc. (an OFB system to go along with them would be fantastic, as well.)
~Seasons and Weather.
~The ability for kids to play an instrument or two.
~Turn Ons/Offs
~Beach interactions. I'm, personally, not asking for swimming. Just stuff like tanning/wading/building sand castles, etc.
~Trees and plants that don't look terrible.
~A microphone, or at least the option to sing.
~Christmas lights (I'm sure they will come. I'm not worried. lol)

What needs to be added:

~(I have to say it, I'm sorry. ) A woodwind/brass instrument.
~Some level of customization options for all rabbitholes' appearances.

That's all that I can remember now.

♫ Keeping this here until EA gives us a proper playable woodwind/brass instrument ♫

I think they should make a stuff pack called "Sims 3: Open for Buisness" and have a lot of shop stuff like added clothes racks, ect. And the sims could just add a little feature like they did with the car enthusiast trait? I don't know it was just kind of a not very well thought out quick though :P

Organiser/Planner - to plan events in advance which makes everyone free at the correct time and on the right day.

Friend groups - Every sim seems to be "alone" in their little world. Friends of friends may be your enemy. I wish there was some sort of "You don't like them? Well neither do we!" type of thing. Obviously not for everyone. I'm thinking mostly for the teen category here. The best I can do is have all the teens in town snub particular teens.

^ This^ -- along with the movie, tv and music video sets as well as the recording studio, bucking bronco, and karaoke machine.

The beauty treatment baths were adorable. They would fill the tub with one of 3 treatements, get in and soak (with little cucumber slices over their eye).

Oh god yes, I miss TS1!

I remember, the treatments were something like.. Mud, Milk and I forgot the green one..
I miss the DJ booth too, from TS1 and 2. And the dance cages! They were strange but funny to watch.

Another thing I really want to see come to TS3; Singing and microphones. I know a lot of people have said it, but I'd love it to be part of the band profession, where your sim could choose what kind of song to sing. I think they should do that in stead with gigs, have sims play certain songs in stead of certain genre's like 'Jazz'.
