OK so i read through the faqs, the other posts, attempted a search on this site, other sites, even google. I have every EP/SP all registered/licensed/updated/etc To be clear...my game works (as far as i know...i mean i've not yet run into any crashes/glitches/freezes/errors) When i run the game or install sims3packs the game pops up with a notification informing me that i have an "out of date modification installed would i like to quit or continue" This started the moment i updated my game from 1.23 to 1.24 (i was running 1.22 and then bought town life stuff and let it update my game to 1.23, i wasn't going to update to 1.24 but that little blue exclamation mark on the launcher was severely screwing with my OCD...or whatever i have) from the moment the base game was updated i'm prompted with this notification each time i run the game...i always click continue and i'm always allowed to play as i normally would. so my question is this...how can i "disable" this silly (seemingly irrelevant prompt) or how can i discover the out of date modification to which it's referring? Thank you for your time and attention with this. Sincerely, Matt |

That message appears for one of two reasons : 1) You have a Core-Mod installed that is incompatible with your Patch-Level. Mods such as Awesome, BaXiM's CORE, ErrorTrap are examples of mods that need to be replaced with new copies each EA Patch. 2) The patch failed on your setup and munched your installation. Usually for that issue, the corrective response is to reinstall from scratch.

twallan - Also, 3) Using a hacked exe no-cd type mod and 4) Sometimes just seemingly randomly for no apparent reason if none of the above are true. |

oh crap my mod packages are mixed in with my item packages i don't knowingly have a "core mod" though...they for whatever reason scare the crap outta me (i know right? a lil file on my screen puts genuine fear in my body) but there is a mod i remember that does a whole bunch to the "vampires" of LN, it's a "laundry list" of changes i'll track that one down and pull it out to see if that causes it to go away and all my games are "origin installed" so i don't have CDs (DVDs?) (ok i do...but they're in their cases over *there*) thanks for responding, hopefully i don't have to do a full "reinstall" it's such a pain having to redownload those origin game files every single time i uninstall |

Get the dashboard to help sort your packages. And this time keep them all in a folder together, possibly in their own subfolders. |
