I know already MTS, TSR, GoS, Insimenator.org, XM Sims, and Peggysims 2. [Sapphire Sims 2 works on and off; tho half my chars I play came from them]. Googling isn't coming up anything. Surly there's many more? Does someone have a list?

You should search them out and compile a list.

The best thing to do is to check out the Updates thread at Black Pearl Sims and the Best finds thread at GOS. A lot of great new Sims 2 content is on Livejournals, Dreamwidths and other smaller venues. Those threads let you keep up with who is actively creating right now.

As far as I can tell Sapphire is still hosting Sims 3. So you should be able to register I would think. If their site crashes for dumping the Sims 2 content I would laugh evilly. Yes, I'm petty. And miffed.

Here is their email: [email protected]

Bookmarked, thx.

When I asked this I assumed someone had already compiled a list. There must be over a thousand tiny sites with just a couple of things on them. When I run across a site I'm listing it here. Trying for FREE no pay sites. Aiming for Sims 2 only. Many sites host Sims 1 and Sims 3 and a few pay items in addition.

Anno Sims - http://annosims.net/forum/index.php - you find stuff by following the individual artists' links.
Redemption - http://hi.baidu.com/mourir - chinese/english, you have to click chinese link at very very bottom to start pages of downloads but after that numbers in english will lead the way.
Sims2Artists - http://www.sims2artists.com/
Aussie Topenders - http://www.aussietopenders-sims2.com/index.htm
Parsimonious Sims 2 - http://www.parsimonious.org/
Retail Sims - http://www.retailsims.com/index.html

I am the one that did the Free Sites list at PMBD- mind you it has no paysites like XMSims, Raon, Peggy, or Rose on it but there are plenty of goodies to choose from. You can also find a complete links list of Sims 2 sites on my finds blog (look down at the signature) and most of my updates are for Sims 2.

It is my opinion that Mod The Sims is the most comprehensive site. I don't see why these people insist on making individual sites when it would be much easier to be found by the public if they would just post here on MTS.

Not to be a witch with a b but as a creator this is my opinion....

Many creators choose to have their own sites because they don't like dealing with submission guidelines and whether or not specific content is to adult for MTS. Others simply value being independent of larger Sims sites, or have found their homes in other communities like Garden of Shadows, Sailfinsims, Black Pearl Sims, Cherryblossom Sims et cetera. Yes, MTS is a great site but it is not for everyone, anymore than the Alternative content, and sub-culture on GOS is for everyone. Some creators like Fanseelamb, Fakepeeps7, and Honeywell have found their homes at MTS, the place I am most at home uploading my creations happens to be elsewhere.

Creators choose to share what they make, we are not required to share it, and Simmers are not entitled to have CC for their games, not to mention not entitled to have it uploaded only to specific sites.I have found that the attitude that entitlement to have CC, to have it uploaded only on specific sites, to only have specific types of CC is the biggest things that drives creators in this community either away from sharing what they make, or away from the game entirely. Creators can upload our creations, wherever, whenever and however we choose to do so. You can choose to seek our sites out and download what we make, or you can choose to stick to larger sites like MTS where only a limited amount of content for Sims 2 makes it through the submission process, that is solely up to you. Most creators unless they work for a paysite (where you pay for some downloads) are creating stuff we want in our games, if someone else wants it, fine, if they don't that is fine too. Some creators share on MTS because they like it here, others don't. I don't upload my stuff here as I have a place as a resident creator on another site and I am very happy there.

Other than creators choices there are issues like server space, and stress on the mod/admin that handles submissions. Delphy's server would probably implode if everyone that made so much as a single wall for Sims 2 tried to upload their content here regularly, and the mod/admin in charge of submissions would have breakdown from work overload. It has always been the case since the very first Sims 1 CC that some of us chose to upload our stuff to our own sites rather than becoming part of a larger site like MTS. It has been like that for Sims 2, and is like that for Sims 3, it will probably be like that for Sims 10.

Well, I have some advice to give to creators. Instead of putting all your eggs in one basket, try to upload your works to multiple sites as sites do die. Especially if you have something unique that you know that you know that know everyone is in love with. Because one day you wont care about Sims 2 anymore but others are just discovering it for the 1st time. AND IF YOU UPLOADED TO SAPPHIRE OMG REUPLOAD SOMEPLACE ELSE PLZ!!!

While that is good advice you have to consider that when a creator quits playing the Sims, retires and closes their site that usually means they are no longer interested in sharing their content and do not care any longer if people wish to download it. Many creators from closed sites will also send you files from their sites if you send them a message on sites where they are members. There are also many creators who do share their stuff on multiple sites (Adele, Buggybooz,Psychosim, Simgaroop, Aikea Guinea, Anva, Ephemera/Teru K/Galaxy, Enayla). It is really up to the individual creator just as sharing is in the first place.

There are sites that archive content for dead sites such as Black Pearl Sims (Under File Share Friendly), Garden of Shadows (under Desperately Seeking/The Best Things in Life are Free/Walking with Zombies) Sims Cave (Unavailable/Hidden), Sims 2 Graveyard and Paysites Must be Destroyed for content from dead paysites (Most of the sites in the TS2 section are dead). Many creators do make an effort to archive their content on these sites when their own sites close and often Simmers themselves will donate files to these sites. Delphy has also archived a great deal of stuff from closed sites like SussissoGoodSims, Simply Elau, Boutique Emilie, Yara Sims Fashion PL and other closed sites here at MTS. You just have to look for it.

As per Sapphire Sims, check with Sims Cave or at the Sims 2 Graveyard regularly it may go up there. Ninth Wave x-posts his content on his own site, Insimenator, and here at MTS under joninmobile so you should be able to find most of the stuff he had on Sapphire Sims elsewhere.

The problem I have with graveyard sites is no pictures. Without pics there is no point. No one will download if they cannot see what they're getting. It's just a waste.

While you may believe this, not everyone does. I'm grateful for the graveyard, even though they don't have a lot of pictures. It's not really meant for people who are shopping for new CC, but more for people who are looking for a specific piece of CC which is no longer available.

But that doesnt mean that its only for those who know what they're looking for, i mean i agree with Jemcrystal here (although SOME of the CC availabe there has pictures), i missed those CC on the graveyard so i wont know what it is, i hope those who contribute with the website would post pictures (someday), take a look here: http://sims2graveyard.com/help.html, read the first point in instruction number 5

Your posts could use a lot less self entitlement--we're not your bitches. People spend a lot of time and money creating CC and maintaining sites for this community and get little in return for their effort so I don't think it's too much to ask that if you can't muster up some appreciation for their hard work at least don't insult them.
