I would like to stop visitors from ever leaving my house, but so that I could still have interactions with them. Ideally, they would act like family members, sleep in beds that are available and eat food from the fridge when hungry, but the main point is that I would like to know if there is a way to keep the visitors leaving at some point. Currently, even if they're locked in a room and no-one is allowed in or out of that door, at some point they'll get up, say goodbyes, and take off. This is the behaviour I would like to stop. Is there any way to do that? [EDIT:] I am aware that if I put them in a room with no doors at all they will not be able to leave, but this also leaves me unable to have interactions with them. |

I don't think you can do that indefinetly. The only way I know to keep the Sims that are at the home lot is to make them selectable for awhile. This way you control them until you are tired of them. |

You can ask them to sleep over and you can ask them to move in. Other than that, when it gets to be late, they'll go home. Certain activities will grab on to them and not let them go - the poker table and the hot tub, for example - but that limits your interactions with them. Take them on a "just for fun" outing to a community lot and then bring them home, and you can almost double your time with them, though. |

YOu can move them in and then move them out later when you dont want them there |

If you have Nightlife, visitors in a casual group ("just for fun") can stay indefinitely at your lot, as far as I can tell, provided their needs aren't very low. But the best way to acomplish what you want would be to move those Sims in, and then deselect them using InSim. They'd be members of the household, so they won't leave, and they'll use all the stuff in the house, but you wouldn't be controlling them. You can easily kick them out when you want, if they're playable Sims, or even return them to the townie status using InSim. |

If you have open for business you can make your home lot a home business. Then they'll stay as long as their needs are taken care of. Only problem is, you'll get all kinds of people coming in who you may not want to stay. |

I play rotation and I've had Platinum sims from other lots visit for over 24 hours. Feed them regular meals, give them bathroom and hot tub access, keep them entertained (a poker table is great for eating time) and make lots of espresso. It's rather astounding how much stamina they have. Townies are more fragile. Pregnant sims very much so. Anyhow, after they finally go home. you can always invite them over the next day. |

I really thought this would work, since that was the recommended method for "visiting" other res lots in TS2. Now I'm confused. I'll have to try it as soon as I load my game. |

The game coding is inconsistent. Some routines look at family number, some look at person type, and some look at selectability to figure out who is a resident and who is not. So if you make a resident sim unselectable, some routines will consider him a family member while others will consider him a visitor. It works the other way too. If you make a visitor selectable, the game sometimes considers him a resident. This leads to weird situations like teenage townies running away from homes they don't live in. |

On my site I have dozens more Sims 2 mods. These mods come with no support so use them at your own risk. |
