They are made out of a mesh and can't be made in game and you can't see sims inside them.

Currently, there is no way in TS3 to create curved walls for actual structures. Only curved fountain and pool pieces. Sorry to disappoint you.

I'm not very familiar with Hidden Springs, though as Chris pointed out, it's most likely a rabbit hole object.
