My problem here is as follows: I like the smith's apprentice, but he gets in the way at the forge and anvil at the worst times. Even after buying a second forge and anvil, he STILL just comes and starts using the one I just stocked, or beats me to the anvil when I click "Hammer Metal", or such mishaps. And I'm afraid that if I ruin one more expensive staff because of him, I might lose my temper and brain him with it So would it be possible to have a sorta "master's forge" and "master's anvil" that only heroes can use, please? |

none of my items have ever been ruined because of this, and if my blacksmith waits the apprentice steps out the way but I do find the waiting annoying, so I'd kind of like to see something like this too. |

Well, maybe not "ruined", as that's pretty hard to do, but I did get a couple of things downgraded from legendary to excellent. There are only 3 mistakes allowed there even at max level, and occasionally I make one or two on my own too, especially if I'm chatting at the same time as playing. Then he comes and hogs my forge, and leaves me with the one he just ran out of coal. Mind you, I did find a quick fix. I put an anvil and a forge upstairs in the bedroom and set that room to owner's family only. So I can forge there myself and let him have the ground floor for his practice. Works pretty well, actually. It's just, it kinda looks ugly to have a forge in the bedroom :p |

Yeah, I did the quest that got him once, and never again. I hated having him bumbling around. Kill him. |

Nah, I kinda like having him around. If nothing else, I can just buy a crude longsword or crude platemail from him, when I'm so high level that my time isn't worth making one myself to save a few coins and I'd still like the buff from completing the responsibility. Plus, he's easier to find than the smith when my merchant wants to buy a few swords and armours cheap and sell them expensive at the stall, and is too lazy to waddle his ample beer belly all the way to the village :p Plus, he makes the place seem more lively, sorta like having a cat. Except not as smart as a cat. And he actually gets in the way more than a cat :p |

This drives me insane. Luckily past few kingdoms I have gotten a female apprentice. So I usually end up marrying her to my blacksmith, and then she just wanders around town and is never seen in the shop like a normal attendant again. O.o This also happens with physicians nurse as well. Kinda annoying, but if lucky it kinda "fixes" that issue. |

Come to think of it, the one that REALLY drove me up the wall before privacy setting was the cook from Meat Quest IV. He's been grinding my cooking pot day and night making gruel, while my merchant had better ingredients and couldn't get anywhere near the pot. Thankfully though he's gone after the quest, and these days I can just set the room private. |

LOL you're a genius, I'll have to try this. I'll marry him off and have him live elsewhere, if the forge in the bedroom bothers me too much. |

I seem to get the apprentice added at some point whether I've done that quest or not. |

if you don't wanna kill him use the dynamic professions mod and remove all his abilities. right after you do that he will proceed to doing what all useless people do: mop the floors (like a boss!) |

Make down stairs private to owner. I think its in grim's core. People then go upstairs and are out of the way. Works for me and helps solitary |

Hmm...that's hilarious, never thought of that.... [edit] Actually, that's not such a good idea. It basically makes the whole building inaccessible to townies. After I did this, they could not even enter the first floor to use the stairs up. |
