How are picked downloads chosen. Is it up to the mods and admins?

Its a super secret algorithm - it takes into account views, downloads and thanks I think.

It doesn't seem to make sense, I have downloads with more, thanks, more dl's, more everything that aren't picked. Not complaining just confused!

yes, it also depends on the area it is in. An example - I was stunned when a particular upload of mine was picked - but it was in a dusty out of the way category so I think it needed a lower score . It also varies depending on whether it is TS2 or TS3.

TS2 or TS3? It is confusing, but I guess I'll just live with it. Thanks Lee.

It's meant to be a little confusing on purpose, so people can't figure out how it's calculated and then game the system to get all their stuff picked. It calculates popularity, and above a certain amount, you get a pick. Ladies' clothing, for example, will have a different threshold than cars. I think for right now, TS2 and TS3 have the same settings but that is subject to change.

Well this thread hasn't been replied to in a while... "blows away dust"

Just out of interest, does the top items thing have anything to do with the picked uploads, because as far as i've noticed every top item is also picked.

Why did I move here? I guess it was the weather.
