Hi, I've been trying to make a dull grass terrain lately. But whenever I try to import the DDS image to create a world, (Add Layer/...) My new terrain isn't showing up. It is there when I look at it in Windows Explorer, but... *Throws tantrum*
Here are some details to help you guys:
- Adobe Photoshop CS3 Extended
- NVidia 210 Graphics
- Create A World Version 1.21.123
- Nvidia Photoshop Plugin Version 8.5
- Windows XP
Please help....

I'm so, so sorry for bumping, but I'm really desperate. Please? Surely somebody understands why it doesn't work... Is it a bug with Windows XP or something? (I'm used to Vista.) A few minutes ago I also tried saving in JPEG and PNG... Still no luck. What is going on?
*EDIT* Are Windows XP and Photoshop CS3 compabitable? Could that mean something?

It is compatible. How much RAM do you have? It could be that you are using up too much memory and the CAW tool doesn't have enough to use to regenerate the terrain or something of that sort.

No, it's not that. When I click import, my new terrain doesn't appear on the list. Here are two pictures showing you what I mean. "1," is in normal Windows Explorer, and "2" is in the create a world browse menu (Add layer, ...)

I have no idea If I'm on the tracks here, but your caw files are not in the default path, do you have caw source files in two locations? I mean I don't know if CAW loads the right folder by default if you don't have them in the default path or if you browsed to a correct folder.

Well, we can't marry yet. I go to EIG To find my new terrain has turned into something brown when I zoom in on it. Oh dear god.

Did you put that to the first layer? I have had similar happen at times. I changed the first paint to one of the grasses I wanted to use on the world and used the problem texture on another layer. Solved the problem for me.

Well, to make matters even worse, I saved the world after changing it in EIG, as soon as I close the game, "The Sims 3 Create A World Beta has crashed!" *Restarts CAW* *Opens world* "Create A World can not load the file Neighbourhood."
Pathetic.

The mucky brown texture is usually caused by a corrupted _KEY file, it can sometimes be solved in game by doing anything which causes the _KEY file to be refreshed, but the easy way (and most thorough, as it has the benefit of clearing out any previously used textures from your world file) is to just delete the _KEY so that it regenerates.
