I was playing my household, the Johnsons, and sent them to Champs Les Sims because one of them had the "Bottomless Nectar Cellar" lifetime wish... had them collect fruit at both the current and "old" nectaries... when I sent them to buy some nectar, I thought I was being so careful to have them avoid buying any nectar with plasma fruit (since they weren't vampires)... but when I sent them to look at their nectar stock, I found that some of the nectar they had bought actually did have a percentage (up to a third, depending on the bottles) of plasma fruit, even though it wasn't included in the name! I know that if someone who's not a vampire eats plasma fruit, they can get very sick, but what if it's included in nectar? Does it still have the same effect?

I've never tried it personally, but from what I hear yes. If a normal Sim drinks nectar with plasma fruit in it, they will become sick as if they had eaten a plasma fruit.

Common sense is one of nature's great ironies... It turns out common sense isn't so common.

Yeah, regular Sims get sick from plasma fruit nectar. My Sims served it at a party for their vampire guest and one of the other guests decided to try it. He regretted it.

so it's a good thing I had my Sim sell it at the consignment shop... one of these days I'll have to make a Sim with the intention of letting them become a vampire and then send them out for all things plasma...

Better include a nice tv with that

Since the very first time a Sim of mine went on vacation to France after installing Late Night, I've thought that it was stupid that sims got sick from Nectar with plasma fruit in it. Or at the very least, it was stupid for the nectar tasting racks to by default randomly include it as a tasting option. I've always got people getting sick right and left at my nectaries now, and it's really irritating.

I know this is an old thread but I just got World Adventures for Sims 3 at Christmas and saw this. Where do you get a plasma fruit or is this something that is part of one of the other expansions? I just haven't seen it in the game yet.

Ahhh, that's what I was thinking. I also noticed an option for spiral staircases that didn't have any in it I guess I need to get some other EPs.
