Hi, I found a non-default skin that I like, but I want it as my default. Is there anyway to do this? And if so, if it is complicated, can somebody help me with it XD

Thanks!

http://www.modthesims.info/showthread.php?t=351328 - Creating default replacement skintones in TS3, by aikea guinea. Should tell you everything you need.

You have to change the Instance IDs to the default instance IDs - I guess the best way would be to extract all the skin tones, get a list of default instance IDs, change the file names, and import into a new package.

Conversion to and from default might be a nice add-on for the next version of Skininator.

Open the .package in S3PE, and extract all the resources marked _IMG (tick Tags at the bottom of the window if you don't see _IMG anywhere). Then follow a tutorial on making non-default skins, using the textures you extracted.

Wouldn't using Skininator be the easiest route? Or does that only do default to non-default?

As far as I know, the conversion feature never made it into Skininator. I only did a quick glance over the changelog, though.

Actually the conversion feature has been in Skininator for a while, but it's not clearly labelled as such. You have to extract the non-default skintone package(s) into a temporary folder with the Extractinator menu option which will load the files into the program in the proper slots, then save as a default package.
