Hi there people,

I've been seaching the forums on MTS to see if anyone has come up with a possible solution to creating custom voices for your sims. I have found 2 or 3 threads which raise this question, but no one seems to respond. I, for one am currently sick of the limited voices for my sims and I'm willing to try my hand at creating a custom voice, but have no idea where to start. Seeing that we are able to install custom music for our sims radios why would it not be capable of tweaking the sims 3 voices to add your own custom ones?? Any input regardless would be helpful. I'm sure I'm not the only one with this query. Are we even able to find a list of simlish phrases to have a go at it??

Usually if nobody answers a question, it is because nobody who visits this forum KNOWS the answer Everything that's known about modding TS3 comes from days, weeks or months of hard work analyzing unknown data formats and picking over game code.

Custom radio stations is something EA built into the game... it's not modding. Custom anything else soundwise is a different matter.

Feel free to work it out and share your findings!

Edit: btw, there has been some work done on encoding music files for TS3... but that is not a straightforward matter, since the game doesn't use a standard codec. Some discussion here: http://www.modthesims.info/showthread.php?t=418050

But from what I understand, sound other than music uses a different codec again, so you're back to square one.
