Slick Deals offering the program for free right now

Alright- I have no idea about any of the 3D programs, but I assume programs LIKE this are used for creating custom objects in Sims 3.

RIGHT NOW, on Slick Deals, you can get DAZ3D Pro .... FREE. Hubby is getting it registered right now, along with some complimentary software.

Thought I would share a heads up with you guys

God Bless,
mik

Thanks for the tip!

At the moment there's not much Sims-related tool support for the DAZ tools, (most meshers on MTS tend towards Milkshape, with a bit of Wings3D and Blender). I do know that the DAZ Studio models are not really SIms-friendly. They're very high poly, and in an incompatible file format. I've never used the Hexagon application though, so it *might* be able to export into a sim-friendly format.

In any case 'Free' is an excellent price point if you'd like to diversify your meshing skills and experience!

(btw, you can get the same deal directly from the DAZ website here: http://www.daz3d.com )

Wow, thanks both of you for the heads-up - am downloading from the DAZ website at the moment. Although maybe not a Sims-friendly app, it's always interesting to try out new 3D modelling tools.

@Mikitta: As Echo says, Milkshape is the 3D app of choice for Simming - although it's not free, it's very cheap, less than the price of a Sims 3 expansion pack, and really worth it for ease of use and because all the plugins for it that you need to make stuff for the Sims series is readily available right here on this site.

Thanks for the info, Es I've actually never dipped into the waters of making my own objects. My husband noticed this program was being given away yesterday and I thought it might be of some interest here.

I may try my hand at object modeling after I play around with DAZ, but mostly I am a world builder

God Bless,

Sounds 'swell enough for a deal, but yeah DAZ3D objects are too overkill for TS3, especially since not all have a high-end graphics card.
