So, I just received Ambitions and Late Night for my birthday, having only had the base game and Pets prior. I uninstalled the whole shebang so I could install the EPs in order, just to be on the safe side (for future reference in case I get WA or Generations- is that actually necessary? I know these games break if you so much as look at them funny...)

Anyway, I read over the patching info on here multiple times but I'm still not sure I get it. The base game and Pets are up to date, but according to the launcher, Ambitions and LN are 4.0.87 and 6.0.81 respectively- do I need to patch those separately? I wasn't sure, because from this discussion it looks like they're not patching individual packs anymore and the individual patches aren't on the Current page.

I prefer to avoid using EADM/Origin, or this would probably be a lot simpler. Do I actually need to update my EPs or does the 1.29 patch have that covered? (I used the 1.26->1.29 patch, not the superpatcher.) I figured it was safest to ask before I try it, because I don't want to sit through reinstalling the game again.

You don't need to install EPs in order. Individual EPs don't get new patches any more, but there are still old ones which you can install; it's not generally necessary unless you want to use Create-A-World, or you're having certain game problems. If your game is working fine, forget about extra patches.
