I am currently going thru my bursting-to-the-seams download folder in the hopes of fixing another issue. I have decided to remove some custom lots that have been downloaded (& I have discovered cause my game to crash everytime I send a sim to them). Now, there are two files specifically that I have deleted from the folder, however they were a part of a "multiple pack" download (from this fab site in fact). Only one of the lots of the three in the download works, which I would like to keep in-game. So long ramble short: I deleted two lots, left the one in folder, went into game, all three were still in the bin (one still in neighborhood too). How do I rid myself of them entirely? Is it safe to use the trash can/delete button in the bin? Will doing so also delete any custom objects that came with the lots (ie: wallpapers, plants)?

Yes, you can delete lots from the Lot Bin using the trash can / Delete button. This will not delete any custom objects that came with the lot.

You say that you deleted several files. Where were those files? In the LotCatalog folder? In some other folder?

The files that I deleted were in the Sims2 Downloads file, strictly 2 package files that had been exported (?) from the download. I didn't know to go to the LotCatalog, but will certainly do so
I do use the CleanInstaller, but seems something is conflicting
Thank you for taking the time to reply

Lots in your in-game Lot & Houses Bin are stored in the LotCatalog subfolder of your save game. So, you can either delete the lots in-game, or delete the lots from the LotCatalog; you don't have to do both. If you have only deleted things from your Downloads subfolder, then you definitely did not delete any lots.

What is the problem with your Clean Installer? Are you getting an error message? If so, what does the error say?

Oh my Clean Installer seems to be working well, I haven't been getting any messages from it..what set this off was that everytime I went to any of the resturants the chef would be jumping(?) back & forth from the stove, if I tried to force-error him/her, I'd get an error message saying that there was no animation string. When I left that lot, the game would crash. Which has led me to cull the downloads down & led me to discover this one lot not working at all.
I have looked at the LotCatalog, little scary there (for someone just learning), how do I ascertain which lot is numbered in there? I have (ballpark) of about 25 custom lots in the lot bin, most of which are in use in another neighborhood. I do have a testing neighborhood currently. If I delete the lots from in-game, that will remove them from the LotCatalog?

Usually, I point the Clean Installer at the LotCatalog folder. That will give you the proper lot names and pictures to help you identify the lot.

Yes, deleting the lot in-game from the Lot Bin should remove the package from the LotCatalog folder.
