Hello everybody,

I installed 1.31 today and removed all the custom content including the official one purchased from the shop before. I also deleted all the cache files, thumbs and worldcaches.
Game starts just fine and quite fast. Takes me in about 30 seconds to the first screen. New login is there but I continue without using it, starting a new game (since my saves do have CC in it).

The game world also loads fine. But when I either create a family and want to move her in or I choose a given one, the game's loading screen appears and thats it. It hangs there for about 30 minutes.

I chose to close the game by task manager, renamed the hole my documents folder to sims3.bak and fired the game up again. New documents folder is created, game resolution messed up as it should... New game still does not work.

Any ideas on how to get it working?

Sometimes this can be due to having weak specs (and suddenly starts after a new patch) so please post your system specs using the little form on the page linked above.

System is as follows:

CPU: Intel i7-2600k @ 3,4GHZ
GPU: XFX HD6970, Driver Catalyst 12.1
RAM: 16GB
OS: Windows 7 64bit SP1

Game Version: 1.31
Installed Games: Sims 3 basegame with all expansion and stuff packs.

Game is on a raid0, user folder is on an SSD.

Cooling is not an issue. Temps are below 35°C (using watercooling).

Problem is solved. The thread can be closed/archived/deleted.

Figured out with process monitor, that it was the antivirus/antimalware that blocked access to a .package (FullBuild1_p10.package) file after the update.

Can you tell us (also beneficial to others having the same issues) what Security program you have? I know this used to plague AVG users. Don't tell me AVG is still doing this "zealous overscanning".

i did not remove all that stuff, because i did not see the info (shame on me) so i installed the update it went fine fast werry fast loading time hurra so into my CAW world and sadly the familys have no menus so they are not useless, i tryed in one of the other cities Ea's and a ea made family and it was ok, so back to one of my other CAW worlds and it again have a problem, a loading problem it start load and.... (like hungry1987 problem) so i'm glad i did not update on my laptop.....

Is it because of the homemade CAW worlds, i only have a few mods from this site installed like ear mod and a skin colour mod? If so how do i rescue my sims games? du i have to reinstall all.

Have all Sims 3 + all extra cities like Lunar Lakes and stuff.
I meet the spec, and more fore Sims 3 (that pc is not on right now and i dont remember the details)
