Anyone can start a blog and say anything they want on it. A blog from a legitimate source (like someone working for EA) might have some weight, but AFAIK, there's the "Sims Division" at EA and I doubt they're going to dissolve that entirely to put whatever's left of the Maxis team (probably very few people) back on it.

Much like the shoe in "Who Framed Roger Rabbit" - the saddest part of the whole movie...

I beta tested for that, and got to chat with a few of the devs who were on late at night monitoring the beta test. They were very nice and interested in player feedback... too bad the game is so boring They told me that Maxis does still exist, they have their own studio and their own location. Course that was a year ago.

I hope that EA doesn't keep them under their thumb. Especially with a new Sim City coming out - they could reclaim their old glory days!
