I've recently found out that I can no longer play ts2/ts3 on my laptop and lastnight I found out I have barely any memory left on my desktop computer. My last option before I have to get a completely new computer is to try a laptop that my mom and I share. I'm really hoping someone could take a look at these specs and tell me what they think. I'd like to have a couple expansions but if not it doesn't matter. I make machinima so I'm really hoping this laptop will run ts2.

We see lots of reported problems from people with Intel integrated graphics. No, this machine will not run the Sims 2 smoothly.

No, unfortunately not - in a laptop, especially one with integrated graphics, you can't put in a real graphics card. If it were an issue of RAM or too small a hard drive, that's fixable, but your problem, not so much. It's probably playable if you stick to expansions no later than Open for Business and stick to short play times and low settings/resolution, but it's not going to be super smooth or pretty, and antialiasing and having nice-looking neighborhood water will never work.

If your desktop still works, why not use that?

To say you "barely have any memory left" is, well, incorrect . Many, many people get confused over the term, so, solutions depending on what you actually meant:
If you barely have any hard drive space left, it's time to spring clean. Delete all the old files and programs you don't use, clear out your temporary internet files, etc. If you really can't delete enough stuff, buy an external hard drive and put the stuff you don't really use, but don't want to delete on there. Tada, you have more hard drive space.
If you don't have enough memory, as in RAM, then it's very easy to buy and install some more. Cheaper than buying a new computer, too.

could I post the specs from my desktop computer and have you look at them? I don't know very much about RAM. if it's spring cleaning that needs to be done I'd get on that right away.

Yes, that's fine - go ahead and post the specs.

To figure out the memory question: how do you know that you're running out of memory?

kk I'll go up and check in a second. I had a little message pop up saying virtual memory is low or something along those lines.
