Where are them Werewolves? #1 |
| beniak |
Okay, most --if not all-- of The Sims 3 players, including me, were all ecstatic about the Unicorns. "Yay! A mythical creature in my household!" "Yay! Faster running!" "Yay! Magic!". I was playing with Pets the other day, when it hit me: Is EA going to end it here with Pets?? I mean, is EA ever going to bring out Werewolves? Will they come with Seasons, if it ever comes out and then, when are the Plantsims going to come out? Or The Sims 3 doesn't have to include all of the things that The Sims 2 had? But still, Werewolves ARE part of the game and of the Simworld, right?

Clearly, their goal is not to recreate Sims 2, so expecting each expansion that had a similar one for TS2 to include all of the same features is an unrealistic expectation. |

Having Vampires and not Werewolves, then? And I was hoping for a developed version of the ones in TS2. Like transforming into a wolf and howling at the moon...Hunting for small animals....Which, by the way would be a nice interaction if they came with Pets... |

I agree, and I'm wondering if they are going to re-create a Season's type expansion as I enjoyed that one. I'm Team Werewolf! |

Sadly, I doubt there's going to be werewolves in Sims 3. Too bad because I hate vampires. Werewolves are much cooler and a lot more dangerous. I also love animals, especially wolves. |

I have the secret hope that EA will figure out how popular EP-crossing content could be, and will release the werewolf life state as Pets-required premium content in the store; even I would pay for that kind of game changer. Alas, I do not believe they are that business-savvy. |

Yes, werewolves and seasons. Actually, werewolves coming out with a seasons type EP would kind of make sense, because of the full moon coming out once (and very rarely twice, I think. It's called a blue moon.) a month. |

If it ain't broke, don't fix it. However, it seems like the developers of TS3 are purposely going out of their way to avoid TS2 content and features... much to their own fault. Hopefully this won't be the case with TS4... but I'm willing to be they'll do something ridiculously radical with it and ruin the whole series (like they do everything else. ie. Simcity, C&C). |

Not everybody liked werewolves in TS2, yknow You'd get some disagreement about whether they were "broke". I like some supernaturals, but I wasn't a werewolf fan myself. In other words, what ain't broke to you may be broke to somebody else... watch out for the Internet disease of assuming that because you can find a few who agree with you, you're in the overwhelming majority :/ Not saying you're WRONG, btw. Just that there were different opinions about every TS2 feature, just as for every TS1 feature and TS3 feature.

I never said I like the werewolves They were pretty much just hairy crazy people to me. However, I did enjoy the Zombies, Vampires, Robots, and Whitches. I was simply addressing the current development of the title's expansions (I think basegame TS3 was pretty incredible), they don't seem to have to planning or production values of TS2 (or TS1) expansions.

They should consider an EP that revolves around these creatures. I would definitely buy it. I never was into sims 2 as I am to sims 3 and since I never bought many of the expansion packs I never played some of the creatures your talking about but they seem really cool. *goes to look up gameplay on them* |

It would be a genius idea for them to make an EP revolving around mythical creatures, a lot of people would buy that! It would be their best idea yet. |

They sure were! (All it did was make sims ugly and act ridiculous.. no cool factor at all.) However! In my personal experience at least... nearly everyone I discussed the werewolves with when they were first coming out was -extatic- until they were gravely disappointed. ...In this case I actually will venture that a majority of players would not hesitate to pay for a REAL werewolf. ...I think EA got bad feedback and is afraid to screw them up again.Considering that werewolves tend to be found where there are vampires, (I need not name any pop-cultrue examples - there are plenty.) I will actually hold out hope that they may appear later on. We as customers need to keep suggesting it politely on the official site if we want it, the only place they do what little listening they do. We need to let them know what went wrong with the werewolves before and they will try again if they smell money in it... aka enough people chime in... Perhaps they may make a fantasy/anthromorphic EP, who knows..? A few will call me crazy but MANY dream of this and would pay pay pay for it. It certainly WOULD be different from TS2. I'm going to stay optimistic, but not so much so that my soul is crushed. ...who else would pay for a fantasy creature EP? Flapping faerie wings? Wiggling, wagging tails and mermaid fins? At least I know I would!

These are the things that I'm hoping the EA doesn't release in any expansion packs. I somewhat like the vampires, but I rarely play them. The same would apply to werewolves, which I never played, even in TS2. I hope that EA never comes out with Seasons. Just thinking about it makes me shudder. Don't get me wrong, I loved seasons in TS2, but having rain, and snow, and all that jazz in my game now would fry my computer - and I've got a highly decent one, above specs for sims and everything. EA is at least attempting to be creative (gotta give them a tiny point for that) and they're trying to come up with different things then what was in TS2. I'll get whatever expansion packs they come out with, because I like the difference from TS2. If I wanted elements from TS2, I'd go play TS2. :P

Really, though? Is it a good idea to scrap a feature because not all people like it? I mean, if the werewolf feature is included in the game, those who doesn't want to play werewolves could just, well, choose to not use the werewolf feature. But by removing it completely, they're disappointing a large number of players who wants to have werewolves in their game. Now I'm NOT complaining about how there aren't werewolves in TS3 or anything, because I've never played that life state (although I have TS2 Pets expansion), and I don't really know the pros and cons of that particular life state |

Werewolves weren't part of TS3 because they were trying to move away from pee. Since inducing mass pee was the only power werewolves had that distinguished them from just a furry sim, they didn't bring that back. |

I always thought it was because they never figured out how to make proper nude woohoo animations, so they don't want to animate hairy balls, but they can't exactly remember that they can just stay clothed. Also they're kinda lazy. |

LMAO Eaxis drop a money-reaping cash-cow like the Sims? -watches pigs fly past- ah, so that's what's in the next expansion... Seriously, though. The Sims 3 Late Night left a lot to be desired in the 'famous actor/performer' area that they've finally given us with a heavily modified TS1 Superstar-based premise, along with a new city - not another small town, a city - and lots of new skills... and generated a HUGE amount of income for the floundering EA company. Are they REALLY going to stop generating EP's now? Is this the end for the Sims? Will they be dashed to bits on the jagged rocks bellow? Are they to be doomed to utter destruction? Will they be rendered non compos mentis? You don't know this series very well, do you? TS1 ran for at least three more expansions past this one, and TS2 for four. I'm willing to bet we've got at least SIX - minimum - worth of Sims content that they're going to bilk us forTAKE MY MONEY NOW!!! |

According to the information that was pulled from the last official super-patch (before EA removed it), werewolves looks set to return in EP7... of course, EA could very well change their minds since this info was leaked and not do it, but I doubt it - and hope not! I too would love the werewolves back... apparently, there are new Werewolf sliders to go with them too - as well as magic, witches, fairies and some type of zombiefication...
