On one lot, Sims in romantic relationships can't interact with each other because they're jumping (also the list of actions they can perform are limited). The mother and father of the family can't interact, and neither can one teen sim with her boyfriend. The affected Sims can still interact normally with other Sims (friends, family, etc). However, when the teen couldn't say goodbye to her boyfriend, I had her (child) sister try to do it and it wouldn't work (the boyfriend kept jumping).
Also, I tried to have the family go on vacation, and they were unable to. They just ended up back home. When the teen sim tried to go on a date to a community lot, the same thing happened.

I tried going through the game help guide, but nothing seemed to help. I've taken out downloads, run Clean Installer to search for problems, deleted cache, etc. I've tried deleting the affected sims, changing their relationship status, aging them back and forth with no luck as well.

The game patches are all installed, and I haven't downloaded any new custom content in a very long time and no other lot seems to be having any problems so I'm not sure how the issue initially started. Best I can figure it started about the time the teen started going steady. I've been hesitant to play the boyfriend's lot because I'm afraid the glitch will "spread" or something.

Can anything be done to return this family to normal?

Thanks.

If you've gone through the game help guide, you have a backup. You can safely test the boyfriend's lot because if it spreads you can restore the backup.

You can also move the family to another lot and see if it helps. If the problem only occurs on that lot, it might be the lot that is corrupt.

I am Ghost. My husband (who made the account because I was too shy) is sidneydoj. I post, he downloads, and I wanted to keep my post count.

I played the boyfriend's lot. He can't seem to interact with anyone outside his family without jumping. His family seems okay though.

I moved the original family to a different lot, but the problem is still there.

Did you try moving your save game somewhere safe and trying with a fresh game? If that works, then it points to a problem with your neighborhood and may not be fixable.

Like trying a new family with a new game with nothing else? Yeah, I did that with no problems. But I can play all my other lots on my game just fine, too. It's just this one lot and I guess the boyfriend that seem damaged.

If the problem were just on one lot, you could delete the lot (after moving the family out, of course).

Unfortunately, the problem doesn't seem to be restricted to just one lot, but seems to affect one or more sims regardless of the lot being played. This is a more difficult (possibly impossible) problem to solve.

It might be interesting to check the neighborhood with the HoodChecker (see my profile) and see whether it can find any obvious problem with can be fixed. You could save and attach the log and I'll take a look at it to see whether it would be worth trying to fix anything. Be sure to select "Check", not "Remove".

Yeah, I tried moving the family to another lot and the problem followed them....

I've attached the log from the hood check!
The Sims with the problem are Mitch, Winnie and Jane Indie and also Parker Forrest.

Sorry, I wasn't clear. That wasn't the log that I wanted. After running Check, there will be a Save button, which will save the log (that you see on the screen) to a text file. That's the one that I want.

That's the one.

My primary question was whether you had invalid family ties. There are no invalid family ties associated with any of these sims.

However, I notice that most of these sims have invalid relationships with themselves. Because of this, I believe that it might be worth allowing the HoodChecker to try to fix your neighborhood.

Be sure that you have a valid backup. Then, run the HoodChecker and choose "Remove". Allow the HoodChecker to remove everything that it can. Then, try playing your neighborhood and see whether you still have the problem. Don't delete your backup unless you are convinced that the HoodChecker has resolved the problem.

Let us know what happens. If the problem continues, then I'm out of ideas and I doubt that this problem is solvable, although it won't hurt to see whether anyone else has any ideas.

I ran HoodChecker, but it looks like the problem is still there

If the problem can't be fixed, do you think it's likely to spread or is this sort of problem one that may just stay with the characters already affected and that's it?

I'm sorry, I have no idea. Since we don't actually know what's causing the problem, it's difficult to predict whether the problem will spread.
