hi, i've come across a rather strange bug. to be honest, i do not know how or why it started, but i do know when: approximately two to three days ago. at first it started only on the front door and windows, then as of a few moments ago (i made the main room slightly larger and added a pond to the opposite end of the lot as well as moved my garden), the issue extended to every door and window on the first floor, leading from one room to the next, or from the inside to the outside (but not from the outside inwards). i also noticed my sim has an "unfinished room" moodlet despite it being completely finished. it doesn't notice the doors or windows, since its inside the house. the issue: doors and windows sort of "blend" into the walls and cannot be used from the inside, however, they can still be used from the outside of the house. sims going in will find themselves imprisoned without an exit. everything can be seen fine from the outside, tho'. can even use the "look inside" emote (as many paparazzi seem to do - my sim is a 4-star celebrity) and yes, i checked and double-checked: 'moveobjects on' is definitely set to 'off'. i did not activate or use these at the time of building the house, nor during the time in which i modified it. please help in any way you can! this has become rather bothersome... i do not wish to have to destroy and rebuild the house... PS: i have every expansion (save for any expansion that came out after Pets) and absolutely none of the stuff packs. i'm on windows seven, utilizing a 128mb nvidia graphics card, an amd dual processor and 3gb of RAM memory. i can only run the game in nearly-lowest settings... my pets (dogs and cats only) all look stretched in one axis across the entire lot. (at least its easy to know when i have "visitors" that ransack my newspapers outside) EDIT: my sims 3 version is 1.29~ NOTE: moving out is not an option, as i'm still on my first legacy challenge generation. i've just recently got my sim pregnant. due to the strict challenge rules, i cannot have my sim move out, even if i have to move it back right in... that would deem the challenge a failure and i'd have to start over! |

Are these EA windows/doors, or CC ones? Is it all lots/towns or just the one? Have you removed all your CC to test? You may want to start a new save in order to do that, to avoid ending up with CC stuff being replaced by random EA bits in your legacy town. As for the moving out - well, my general philosophy is "If one of the rules is making it so I can't fix a game-breaking bug, then I'mma break it and cancel out any advantage I gain later .

i don't have any mods installed. i did at one point at the start, but i removed it (since it didn't work. probably wrong version) it ran fine after that tho', so i don't think that's the cause of it. actually, the only package is -- oh. i just checked the packages folder... this is what i have in there (i totally forgot they were there!): 8 NRaas package files and the censor remover. (it may be barbie-doll like, but that censor really bothers me for some reason...) as for the rule-breaking, i'm trying to fix it as much as i can without doing anything against them xD but considering i'm still in the first generation, i might just start anew if it can't be fixed... too bad for the unborn child tho'... also, i might just delete the house and make a new one. maybe after i installed Pets, something slowly began to crawl under my furniture through the doors and windows. lol |
