After getting pets I had glitches so I quit playing for a while. last night I finally decided to uninstall and re install to see if that helped. I can't get the base game re installed. I put the disk in and nothing happens I've checked my autoplay settings and the problems not there. after popping out the disk a few time I gave up and grabbed my digital copy from origin but after installing it I tried to open the game and it just tells me Sims 3 has stopped working. It won't even open the launcher so I re uninstalled it. What should I do did I uninstall it wrong? I can't think of any other reason it wouldn't work.

try fixing your registry, using ccleaner after you uninstall. then try to install it again

Haven't installed Pets again, correct? So that crashing occur while on an unpatched retail base game with version 1.0? Or after already patched to 1.31/1.32?

If patched, since mention Origin, patch using Launcher from scratch (or manually with 1.32 SuperPatcher)? So, are you at 1.31 or 1.32 ?

To reiterate Majuchan's query - how did you uninstall - followed our Uninstall guide? Inclusive of registry and folder cleanup or at least confirming these are cleaned up?
