I moved your thread to Body Shop Meshing which is a more appropriate place for this. What sort of help do you want with this? I can see from the picture that it'll be a very challenging hairstyle to make look, well, not entirely stupid, but it looks doable. Do you have any meshing experience already? Specific hair meshing experience is even better. |

Well I do not have much experience but recently I have been working on hair styles and eyes (making minor changes). As for Jinx I know she looks very uh... lets say unusual . I think I have what I need for my project...software... Photoshop CS5.1 - I *fake cough* acquired this. Blender - I used this for older projects... but it still comes in handy. Paint - I never thought it would be useful but it actually has been very helpful over time. Sims 2 expansions... (excluding the core game)... Seasons University (going to get) other expansions soon... |

Well, having some experience with hair and eyes is good - knowing your way around Body Shop will certainly help with part of it. We usually recommend you make a body mesh first, just to get used to modifying things in Milkshape and using SimPE to do meshes. Then there's a separate hair tutorial you can do to get the basics of how to get a hair in the game. As far as that hair goes, you'd probably end up modifying some cylinders to do the "pigtails" and you could likely use some existing parts to do the bangs, just modified. Would be tricky, even for an experienced mesher, so it's probably a good idea to tinker with some existing meshes just to see how that works, and take a while opening up meshes from the game in Milkshape to see how they're done (both the meshing as well as the texture mapping). |

^Ok I actually did not realize that you were online when I began replying... I updated my post a little bit. I will try messing around with the hair more as you suggested to see what I cant do. |

You'll need Milkshape, too. Nothing else will let you use the plugins you need to modify the hair bones. More expansions are not necessary. |

Not for hair, no. There really isn't anything else that will do what you need to do - the necessary plugins are only for Milkshape. Plus it's cheap, and a really great program that you'll find great support for (both by its creator as well as around here, since so many people use it). |

The tutorials will tell you what all you need, with links. They're in the tutorial subforum at the top of this here one (Body Shop Meshing). |

ok so I found my way to the wiki and tutorials and I am trying to get used to it (easier than It thought it would be to work with). However at step 10 it tells me to uncheck some box but there is no option for it...see... |

You have to click the "Select" button for those options to appear. In your screenshot, the "Vertex" button is clicked instead of "Select". |
