Its the oddest thing.... it appears that ONLY the Rgiles kitchen items are affected. Instead of telling me which cabinet its for (like it used to), it now says......

"Doormat $25
While being a doormat isn't necessarily good for a Sim's self esteem, *having* a doormat can do wonders. What better way to say "Welcome" than a mat that says "Welcome"?"

..............

Ok it definitely started after I installed my new EP's... I also recently reinstalled CEP because some maxis items were ignoring it. After reinstall it all was good. I googled but I couldn't find anyone else having this problem, so I come to you with hopes of some help. Its not a HUGE issue, but its really annoying.

Oh I also did delete all the cache files in the downloads folder as instructed, and restarted the game. This didn't help. I actually did not clear out my thumbnails folder for 2 reasons - 1 being that I don't have any thumbnail issues, and 2, I suddenly have some thumbnails magically correct themselves - I don't want to mess with them.

The items in question can be found at these links (had to hunt for these)

http://modthesims.info/d/90650 - Decorative Plates by Luslipz73 (very pretty by the way)
http://modthesims.info/d/92412 - and this is apparently by Luslipz73 as well.

I'm seeing a pattern.....I imagine a conflict of some sort but... now what can I do about it?

While waiting for a response I'm going to delete and redownload them.

Thanks in advance!

ok so I did that, deleted, redownloaded - its ONLY the rgiles kitchen stuff. All the other plates have the right descriptions - all the tuscan clutter, right descriptions.....

this is so odd cause I know they weren't like that before

Best example I have at this point is the cakeandsaver - one sits on any counter, has the correct description - the other is pre-elevated, I assume to sit in the decrachill or something like that (not as high as a counter) and that item says its a doormat.

-----------------------------

ok I didn't want to post again, so I'm editing to add that I deleted the Echo 1x1 doormat from this thread - http://www.modthesims.info/download.php?t=46922 - since it seemed like that item had that description as it should, since it really is a doormat... heh - didn't work - they still say they're doormats... I'm at a loss - I don't have anything else resembling a doormat with that description

Does it work if you remove all custom content apart from the RGiles stuff (not sure if you've tried that or not)?

Isn't that the catalog description for a regular EA doormat? It sounds familiar...

I am Ghost. My husband (who made the account because I was too shy) is sidneydoj. I post, he downloads, and I wanted to keep my post count.

In Delphy it looks like these items are completely absent a description, but that wasn't always the case. I know at one point when I clicked the items in the catalogue it said "dishes for rosemary cabinet" or "clutter for island" or even "clutter for stove hood", those sorta things.

I did remove everything from my downloads folder, no change - that includes everything, all mods, even CEP. I loaded with just the 1x1 doormat - also no change, but I'm still thinking thats where the description is coming from. My reasoning being that no Maxis rugs in my game have that description. The only thing I do find curious about the doormat is there is no name in the description. For example, all my other Echo rugs say that they are made by Echo, this one doesn't. Just the text I posted above.

While doing that I thought perhaps the files were corrupted again when I loaded them with something else last night. So I deleted them, again, and redownloaded. I loaded them into the game by themselves, they are absolutely doormats. With everything else removed its easier to see them all, so I can tell you one thing, the price does change from item to item, but.... still doormats.

I have to assume at this point it has something to do with one of my EP's, and not a custom content conflict. I recently did a full reinstall along with adding the EPs (thought that was best) - I now have the holiday stuff (prepacked with the original game) installed Uni, NL, Pets, Seasons, Glamour Life Stuff, and Open for Business (not necessarily in that order of course, I went to sims wiki to make sure I installed them in the right order).

I guess its not really hurting anything - now that I've recognized the affected items, I'll at least be able to know what they're for (either rgiles kitchen or wds cabinets, which I don't have, but they fit on some other cabinets so I kept them). So this thread isn't a total loss. Its just one of those things that bug me cause I know they worked before.

If anyone else has a suggestion, I'm all ears! (or eyes) I very much appreciate your help and I'm so grateful for this forum tolerating my weird issues.
