Hi, So once I found out about the Traveller Mod I was really excited to try and visit places like Bridgeport etc. (Where I inserted a Big Venue to perform in) and try to summon the proprietor. I used a sim already at the top of there performance career (level 10 magician) and summoned the proprietor in Bridgeport, however he wasn't able to "Audition" because apparently his level was not high enough. I then changed his home town to Bridgeport and at that point he was able to audition! I'm wondering if anybody knows a way to audition while "on vacation", that way your sims can tour your downloaded cities performing etc. Also, I read that you can possibly change whether or not your sim treats it as a vacation, I was wondering if this would have an affect as well!

Thanks!

I have not tried this but plan to do so. My guess is that your Sim cannot work while on vacation so when you changed it to his hometown, you changed his status and he was no longer on vacation. I suggest trying to change whether or not the sim treats it as a vacation and see what happens. I think he will probably be able to perform then. My sims are not yet high enough to perform on any big stage but do plan to try this eventually.

Performing in other towns is also my great plan when I some day have a performer. My town is incredibly small, only one bar, so there is no place to perform.

Same here, Ani. I play my custom town and it is very small. I managed to squeeze in a stage at a park and one small shoe venue but I can't fit in the large venues and arena's. I have plenty of bars though and I really wish our sims could play on a small stage. My sims will definitely need to travel.

I tried to change it so my sim did not take it as a vacation, however he ended up just not having his job. (He went from level 10 magician to unemployed), therefore he wasn't even able to audition for a gig, when I returned him to his original hometown he got his job back. So I'm not really sure if we'll get a chance to "tour" using the travellers mod.

Same here. I sent a beginner (level 2) acrobat from Bridgeport to SS and she also became unemployed. She could get the job in SS and advanced to level 3 but when she came back to BP she was level 2 again. The original plan was for her to "study" in SS but obviously, that is also impossible at this stage.

Ha! It was two in the morning. SHOW! I won't hit you. I am rather a stickler about spelling as well. Ask my kids.

Very disappointed it didn't work. I guess you could temporarily change their hometown and then change back.

You could probably also use Twallan's MasterController to put your Sim back to the same level in the career once you've made it to the "vacation" world as well, yes?

Leave it to the modding community to create EP integration, and have actual World Tours. Good Job EA.

Alright, well i went to Twallan, and saw on one of the forums there that a simmer used "Selector" as well. (She actually only had it downloaded.) So I tried that, I downloaded selector, didn't change any setting, and when I went to perform again it worked! Weird!

Actually, forget my last post! I just realized, my sim loses his job in the process of changing "Treat as a Vacation" if I DO NOT have the "Job" tab open. Very weird, however, when I keep the job tab open, and change treat as a vacation, he keeps his job. When I have another tab, such as Inventory or Relationships etc. open, he loses it! So I guess the best way to do it is to keep your job tab open?

Very interesting! My singer just arrived home from Starlight Shores. I changed her to 'do not treat as a vacation", got a gig at the park, changed her back and sent her home (after a night of partying and being wooed by several young men). I did lose any of her experience or her job and in fact, arrived home with the extra job experience she gained at the park. I did not get any singing telegram jobs in Starlight Shores, which rather surprised me.

BTW, forgot to add that I already had Selector so that is probably why it worked. Funny thing, I actually felt a rather sad feeling when I sent her home, sort of like I do at the end of real vacations! LOL Am I playing this game too much? Or do I need a REAL vacation?
